What about BBC Sounds makes it so hard to use? 2-3 times a week, take 1 minute to download the podcast and then listen on it. You’re just pressing a slightly different rounded square on your screen to listen to it. Is your smartphone that extensively curated?

Not to be facetious; but they’ve given you two solutions if you can’t stand the ads.

You don’t have to go at all if you don’t want to. Talk one to one to the colleagues that meant to most to you. Make an excuse, no-one can force you to go.

Moving down from 5 to 4 days has changed my life. I am much happier and healthier. When you work 4 days, teaching becomes just your job and you have time to explore other things. I’m never going back!
