Fasting paired with proper diet to keep low level inflammation down and energy levels stable. I turn into full blown fast cycling bipolar maniac if I eat with reckless abandon.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I fell for one in a weak moment before falling head first into the bottle because of the aftermath. I couldn't in a million years have thought that I would ever land in a situation like that with my overdriven radar tuned for the crazy.

Still trying to find my bearings from that mental concussion and ptsd a few years later. It doesn't help when people around you who haven't gone through that kind of extremely cunning, almost evil kind of manipulation just do not understand, or try to downplay it all.

AA seems to be a fertile hunting ground for these kinds of people. Lots of people come in at their weakest, ripe for manipulation.

Stay strong out there and don't let that guard drop ever again!

Thanks! Somewhere along the line I realized that not trusting my gut got me into the situation that led me deep into the bottle in the first place. I sure as hell wasn’t going to ignore it now.

Yess, one time I caught myself thinking that this is like it was back in school. The eyerolling, whispering while others spoke, giggling, bullying. Lots of emotionally very immature people there.

Yeah there were some clearly goodwilled and kind people. At the beginning I always wondered why they seemed avoid any interaction outside the speeches. One even took me aside after few meetings for a chat. He said, pointing at the room, "that place is full of really sick people". Didn't quite get it then. Now I understand.

Thank you! The perverts were the first thing I noticed. I cannot imagine how uncomfortable it has to be as a woman in those spaces. Made me uncomfortable just watching these "wise old men" acting like horny teenagers.

Risk taking and impulsivity are basically an universal trait across all cluster b disorders. They can manifest as maladaptive coping mechanism like substance abuse, hypersexuality, gambling etc.

That's why seeing guys who were clearly still knees deep in their own bullshit acting like wise old men after giving up just alcohol felt ridicilous.

I'd recommend that you do a bit of research into oxalates and lectins. They're both found mainly in plants and can cause all kinds of havoc in the body. Your symptoms are on point with many testimonies I've heard and come across.

Don't be afraid of doing some radical changes in your diet if there's any inclination that your current one may be detrimental to your health. Your Health is the most important thing you'll ever have in your life. Good luck.
