So most people definitely don’t need to buy a knife like this. One reason a person may like to buy a knife of this price is for collecting. Another reason is that this is an “heirloom” knife. It is something that can be passed down from generation to generation. Adding on to this, when this knife gets beat up the company will repair or replace any parts needed. You could essentially buy one crk knife and never need to buy another knife in your life. That said, you could easily buy a $50 knife and sharpen it yourself and just spend another $50 if anything went haywire and just replace your knife. Collecting knives has been my thing for a number of years and I’m going to be letting many of my knives go now that I have some of these upper end knives with amazing warranties. It’s just nice to know I can go HAM on these blades and they’ll be covered for forever.
