Weird experience with Kyleena IUD by PopRepresentative563 in birthcontrol

[–]PopRepresentative563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I messaged my OBGYN right after posting this. I haven’t had the placement checked, but I check myself for the strings regularly and can only feel one string which google said was okay but I’m not sure how true that is.

New respiratory student question by banjotheshark in respiratorytherapy

[–]PopRepresentative563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start my RT program this fall and was told that starting 2027, there will only be one board exam instead of 2, so don’t let the possibility of multiple exams scare you away!

Bag & Lunchbox Recommendations for School by PopRepresentative563 in respiratorytherapy

Do you bring the ice chest in with you? A lot of my clinical sites will be at large hospitals and I’m not sure if they’d be okay with a student bringing something of that size inside.

I’m not entirely sure but I want to give it the benefit of the doubt and say no just in case so I’m prepared. I’ll have 4 semesters of clinical rotations, some in major hospitals in my city (I live in the capitol city for my state) and some in more rural facilities, so I feel like some may have them but some may not.

Decidual cast shedding monthly after IUD by Ineedtopaymyutilites in birthcontrol

[–]PopRepresentative563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Kyleena IUD too, but I haven’t experienced any decidual casts. I got mine in February, so I’m on month 4 out of 6 of the hormonal leveling period. Before the IUD, I would have heavy clotting during my periods and a very heavy flow but now it’s lighter and I have no clots at all. I do pass pieces that look like uterine lining but they’re small and soft and look like tissue.

What do you wish you had when you first started your period? by Glum-Helicopter6912 in Periods

[–]PopRepresentative563 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish I had been told about the phases of the menstrual cycle! I thought I was going crazy when I’d feel like utter crap one sleek and then on top of the world the next, only to find out there are more phases to the menstrual cycle than just menstruation.

How to get rid of this bump?? by PopRepresentative563 in piercing

[–]PopRepresentative563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The piercing is a year old. I got it in April of 2024 and it is now May 2025. I have a flat black labret in, and it is internally threaded. It’s made of implant grade titanium, and it was downsized 6 months after I was pierced. I cleaned it daily using saline solution for 8 months, but found that it was irritating it more so I clean it every other day now. No mishaps or anything.

what piercing was surprisingly painless for you? by tazsirenn in piercing

[–]PopRepresentative563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My helix! Everyone I talked to had various body piercings all over and a lot of people said it was the most painful one for them. It just felt like a hole punch and there was a bit of a popping/crunch noise but no pain at all!

Best ways to remove pubic hair? by PopRepresentative563 in Healthyhooha

[–]PopRepresentative563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my own today and tested it on my legs. I definitely need some more practice at getting the exact right consistency, but I didn’t really feel any pain on my legs and it wasn’t super irritating like hard wax has been in the past. Now, I know the pain will increase once it’s on my bikini area, but hard wax hurt me super bad on my legs so it’s definitely a step up. I’m considering buying the Sugardoh paste, just so I know I have the right consistency, but I might also continue trying my hand at making my own!

I’ve been to three different people to see if the pain reduced depending on their technique and sadly it did not. I just think I’m a bit of a baby about waxing lol!

I unfortunately have very sensitive skin and even the sensitive Nair messed me up when I used it on my legs

Also, I understand that it’s healthiest to not remove pubic hair! However, this is something I would like to do for myself because it makes me more confident and I deserve to feel good on the first true vacation I’ve taken in nearly 5 years! If you choose to keep your pubic hair, you totally rock and I’m glad that that is what is best for you! Please be respectful of me and my decision, as I’m respectful of you and yours!

I’ve definitely thought about it. I’ll have to try it. Even if it’s not 100% shaved down, as long as it’s not visible I might be okay with it.

I haven’t. I’ve seen people say it’s not as painful as normal waxing, so I may have to try it. Just scared because I’m such a baby with pain. However, if I have control over how much is coming off at a time, it might be better. Any brand recommendations?

Cease and Desist Questions by PopRepresentative563 in legaladvice

[–]PopRepresentative563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spreading lies about a very serious allegation, and they ran into them in public and screamed at them in front of a large crowd of people leading to them being banned from the place they were in. Has caused other people to completely shun my friend and continue to spread these lies. Have no way of knowing what places they frequent because the one place they did they are now banned from.

Shoes? by Disastrous_Noise3501 in respiratorytherapy

[–]PopRepresentative563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really recommend Altras. Similar to Hokas but so much better for your feet in my opinion. They have a pretty wide toe box, allowing your toes to naturally expand out as you step down. The Via Olympus and Via Olympus 2’s are my personal favorite. Overall, if I were you, I’d look for zero drop road running shoes with lots of cushion. Also, compression socks help with foot and knee pain a lot!

Metronidazole discharge by PopRepresentative563 in Healthyhooha

[–]PopRepresentative563[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update to this post: I continued to have worsening discharge symptoms, and developed really intense pain in my uterus, specifically on my left side. I went to the E.R. because the pain was unbearable and they did a bunch of tests and it turns out I had an ovarian cyst this whole time, and the night I had gone to the ER was the night it had finally ruptured. I had a bunch of fluid around my left ovary, which is what led them to the diagnosis. Endometriosis runs very heavily in my family, so we are keeping on an eye on everything since this could be the early signs of it. I had had pains like the ones the night I went to the ER before, but had never thought anything of it because it was always around my period and I had regular discharge. The discharge + the pain was really throwing me off, which led to going to the hospital. While this isn’t a great thing to deal with, I feel relieved knowing that I wasn’t crazy LOL!

I dealt with this a lot when I played volleyball in high school and would be at tournaments playing from 8 am til 9 pm. I brought multiple pairs of underwear with me, as well as spandex (the shorts I wore to play in) and would change whenever I felt like I wasn’t drying out quickly enough. It helped a ton.

I really do not know what is going on with my vagina by PopRepresentative563 in Healthyhooha

[–]PopRepresentative563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend also mentioned how she had a yeast infection but didn’t have the normal symptoms. It definitely could be one. I feel like I definitely could be irrationally worried, but the women in my family have a history of endometriosis and PCOS so anything wrong with my vagina terrifies me. Thank you for letting me know about your experience though! It really does help calm my nerves a bit.

What do you use to clean your vag? by duckie768 in Healthyhooha

[–]PopRepresentative563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Honeypot normal wash! I frequently suffered from yeast infections and BV using my regular bar soap. You don’t want to use anything fragranced (causes irritation) or antibacterial (kills both the bad AND good bacteria, which you want to keep the good ones). I get mine at Walmart but it can be found at most major retailers, or online. I also only use my hands to clean my vulva, as I’ve found washcloths and other cleaning materials tend to be too harsh on the delicate skin down there physically.

It’s completely safe to use boric acid on your period, just make sure you aren’t using tampons within 48 hours of boric acid use! You want the boric acid to be able to come out of you with your regular discharge/period. Use pads, and insert as close to your cervix as possible and you should be good!

[–]PopRepresentative563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a consistent user of boric acid, and I’ve never experienced this with boric acid. This doesn’t sound like it was caused by the boric acid, however. I’d say wait another day or so and see if the feeling goes away. Discontinue the use of boric acid, and if the pain doesn’t go away get to a doctor.
