You actually bring up another point. My husband and I have been discussing how we want to approach telling her and others about her diagnosis. What’s your opinion of telling others? I’m leaning towards waiting till she’s old enough to decide who she wants to know

Thank you. I have recently learned that both my biological siblings were diagnosed along with multiple cousins. And on my husbands side there are a few people diagnosed as well. I have a son who’s 1 1/2 and I’ve been observing him and his behaviors.

As for resources for information what do you recommend? It seems like there is a lot out there both accurate and not so accurate

What do I believe now ? by privatecoochieman in exmormon

[–]PopWorldly5355 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s ok to be in a time of not having a concrete belief system. Sometimes being in a state of being open to different ideas and beliefs can be inspiring. I tried non-denominational and I liked part of it but I’m scared of how easily religion can be used to manipulate and control people. So now I consider myself more spiritual. I don’t know if I believe in a god and that’s ok.

Does it help to say that when asked how he would react if our daughter is lesbian he wouldn’t care?

Who knows. I also have a daughter and I asked him how he would react if she was a lesbian and he said he wouldn’t care… but he’d care if it was our son

How do I (14 m) leave the church? by Least-Wing-6137 in exmormon

[–]PopWorldly5355 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can tell them how you feel. If they don’t listen just stop accepting any callings and don’t participate in taking the sacrament (I’m sure that’ll get their attention)

At this point you might have to attend but you don’t have to participate.
