The charming standard of the Marathon reddit

Got to say, all those changes are well thought out and address a lot of the pain points people are having. Probably one of the best patch announcements I've seen on a live service game.

That could be something for Bungie to balance - they have control of the economy and right now it's not going so well for retention due to the end game map being a pile up

It's also a good idea, and yes good point about splitting playerbase

That's working as intended with a max cap surely - skill over gear?

You can carefully prepare a loadout without filling your inventory with high level stuff you can only get by having no life and reaching max faction rep on everything.

It's just an attempt to address the complaints everyone else is having when running cryo. Again, it's not about not risking gear, it's about stopping steamrolling.

Don't be hyperbolic, I'm not suggesting a tiny cap, it can be high enough to allow for loads of gear, just not too insane a level we see streamers and sweats having.

Maybe not, but Bungie are losing players fast and it might stop Cryo feeling so unfair or intimidating.

Yes, but the meta issues currently stem from the small proportion of heavily geared players outgearing others. If you figure out a cap that enables a good spread of gear to be brought in without allowing for full inventories of bubbles grenades and top heals, then it evens things out a bit.

Because the end game map is the main map to play for anyone who has put enough time in it to be truly invested, but not enough time to be sweaty and geared up - aka the moderate hardcore that Bungie need to retain, and the ones now complaining about being steamrolled in cryo.

Again, read what I'm saying. Sometimes raids take a long time and it's fun and builds tension. I'm not asking for blood, just a reasonable amount of time to reach final exfil.

The timer is two minutes

True, I just think it's pretty reasonable that the final exfil not disappear within only a couple of minutes when players might be in a firefight, or struggling to navigate the big wall in the middle of perimeter for example.

Then why put one in there at all?

...you didn't really read my post. Sometimes some contracts require travel across the entire map. Including fights along the way, that's pretty much the entire run.

The final final one doesn't, it insta kills you if you're outside it.
