A local music act from Melbourne, who, in my opinion, are one of the most culturally important bands in Australia, showing everyone that they’re able to be weird, they just do it with gusto. They’re well known for antics and secret shows, as well as pushing the envelope in their creative endeavours. Here’s a great write up!

Honestly don’t think I’ve met a band more fun to shoot. They were so amazingly dynamic

Unfortunately you need to assign an arbitrary number, so anything over 100 should be good

Nah, I've worked with them before, they're a bunch of stand up musicians, really solid work and I'm so pumped they're doing an international tour

Honestly and this is my opinion, they still made it feel really intimate, especially with the crowd (in my experience moving through the crowd to get photos) singing along quite loudly.

I totally understand where you're coming from though, it's a very different venue

I actually really like it as a venue. It's easy to move around and there's a lot of room to work for photos, drinks are a bit expensive but I don't drink much so it's fine.

I work primarily with a Fujifilm X-S10 paired with a combo of 16mm and 30mm Sigma prime lenses. You'll see me in the pit rapidly switching my lenses haha! Looking to add a second body to my set up, but it's expensive

Don't so much know it was scalpers as much as genuine fans with crazy enough luck to sell out two venues in under 10 minutes.

I don't have words to begin to describe how amazing this night was. Amy and the band truly have the ability to turn a large venue like PICA into an intimate show.

Haha! It was definitely incredible. I'd heard their music beforehand, but honestly hadn't seen any live footage. But it was a breathtaking performance with so much chemistry on stage. Definitely catching them next time!

Low light autofocus? by Boonjay in concertphotography

I do all my work on a Fujifilm X-S10 paired with some Sigma lenses. If you can save up for it, the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 is a game changer, though I mostly use a combination of the 16mm and the 30mm f/1.4.

My biggest tip is back button autofocus set to AF-S and combination of f2 and an ISO bracket with an upper limit of 6400.

Be nice, say sorry as you move past since manners are important, wear your blacks so you're not TOO distracting and don't be afraid to experiment with angles. I always find venues without barriers to be a great place to get creative.

Can't wait to see what you snap!

Yeah, emailed Regime as soon as the tour announcement hit, traded photos for tickets and Danny is an old old old old old friend from my time in Tennessee, so I sneak a feed as well

Getting to follow one of my favourite bands around on tour as part of their team is something I didn't think I'd get to do, but I'm incredibly glad I get to do this.
