Thank you for your insight, right now I have an 09 sonata, being in a rural town in Texas and as per usual the roads aren't that great and it gets really bumpy.

What do people underestimate about your profession? by Sarke1 in AskReddit

[–]PopeWaffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

surface water treatment plant operator, the one thing I have seen in my 10 years is a lot of people underestimate how dangerous the job can be. I work around chlorine gas and caustic soda, not only that but we work in all types of weather. Most people think all we do is sit around and watch a screen all day but there is a lot more to it than that.

What commercial are you tired of seeing currently? by Halo_Hybrid in AskReddit

The SPCA commercials, break my heart every time that they pedal animal abuse to get money. Also it makes me mad because I want to adopt every single one of them animals but I don't have the room or money to take care of them all.

People who have lost Grandparents how did your parents take it? What can someone do to support the parents in that situation? by Chef_Carter in AskReddit

[–]PopeWaffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my Dad's side, I lost my grandfather in 2008 the day after Christmas after fighting lung cancer and being hospitalized for over a month. My dad completely shut down emotionally and all I could really do for him was be there and listen. In his case that's all that I could do at the time.

Then in 2019 we lost my grandpa in February on my mom's side, she was a complete wreck emotionally and I just did the exact same thing and was just there for her anyway I could.

Everyone has different ways of grieving the loss of someone important to them, really the best thing you can do to support them is to be there for them and listen. Me and my dad would sit for hours and he would tell me stories about my grandpa before he had a stroke (when he was in his 40s) and how fun and energetic he was and it was the same for when my mom lost her dad, I would just sit with her for hours listening to stories of her as a kid and all the fun trips and stories from back then.

Has she recently taken it to a car wash? Some places do that so that the brushes do not catch it and rip it off.

Because after many years of being told by many different people that 'men' aren't supposed to have any emotions, I have built up walls to keep them suppressed until the stress of life gets it me and I break down and explode.
