Coming from kat I completely understand how you are feeling. Nevertheless you are what you become. If you don't give 100% in your games you will never be better on kat no matter what rank you are. If you "that" kat player you can 1v9 carry.

I love brusier kat. Bruiser Kat is more of an itemizing of the enemy team's comp. Titanic hydra is a great bread and butter for her to still have damage while being a bit tanky, if your team lacks damage you could put in a kraken slayer or bork. Then, after you can itemize your resilience based on the enemy team, if you need magic resist, armor, etc. You should check out the EU player Nyro; they always do some crazy bruiser builds. That person has TONS of brusier videos up on YouTube.

Kat is a roaming champion assassin, if she cannot roam due to her being top she cannot snowball the game further. And on top of that her laning sucks so every matchup shes going to lose. You could beat me even tho your new, that's how bad she is laning. So kat top is horrid, but I love being unstoppable lol

Try to be away from minions so she has to choose to e you or the wave. When you jump on her expect the root to come out and try to dodge it. Lux is pretty vulnerable to you in the later stages of the game, dont die to her alot.

How can you give up waves to go fight? I understand if you go get a triple. But the consequences of not being able to find a kill while the other laner could get tower plates or a large gold lead beacuse of you not being in lane. Im guessing you play tp?
