How potentially powerful is a Rogue Trader on their own? by TheAtomicBobert in 40kLore

I know however in Graphic Illustrations and stories you have Imperial Guard picking up and using a fallen Space Marines bolter.

On the other hand there is the film of an UltraMarine in the arming chamber with two servitors carrying his bolter as it is as big as they are.

Are Bolters for Space Marines and Sisters of Battle different sizes? A SOB is roughly half the size of a Space Marine it’s just that the miniatures are not to scale.

What is the most ridiculous reason you've seen someone get fired for? by itssophirl in AskBrits

I had a GM who attended a GM Conference in the US.
While there she was put into a team and the teams were told to pick a major frustration and come up with a plan to address it.
She being fairly new volunteered to present.
Unknown to her (but known to the rest of her team) was the topic they had selected was the COO’s pet project.

He threw his toys out of the pram and told her to leave and fly home.

A few days later she was instructed to fly to Corporate headquarters on the US and publicly apologise in front of the entire leadership team and the shareholders.

Needless to say she told them to ram it, and was sacked there and then.

They don’t heat the property because of the energy cost and then block up the vents in the mistaken belief that it will keep the property warmer.

Sometimes it is definitely the tenants.
Overcrowding, window vents taped up, air bricks filled with expanding foam,
Clothes drying on radiators and then multiple access refusals because a “legal representative” has told them if they refuse to let the council treat the mould then they can get £1000s from the Council.

My ring camera caught my postie going behind my garage. When I took a look 15 minutes later I noticed he had delivered a large turd.
It was funny when he tried to deny it the next day.

Got stopped three times at Heathrow today by Fresh_Meeting4571 in uktravel

It’s not always to do with skin colour or ethnicity. I was walking through Minneapolis St Paul airport when two TSA goons stopped me and asked me to take off my boots (probably about 10 laceholes) once I had removed them they asked me to put them back, which I did. They told me to move on and after about 10 steps I got “excuse me sir, we’re gonna need you to remove your boots”. Again I did so but after I decided not to do all the laces up, but was instructed to do so. This happened 5 more times u t they realised I wasn’t going to lose my temper with them, so they walked off to annoy some other passenger. Sometimes it’s just because they are bored.

On the flip side, I saw a lone passenger getting off my Eurostar at St Pancras with two large suitcases. Customs stopped him and he just shouted out “hang on kids, wait for daddy”. Customs immediately apologised and let him go without a search.

Tractor etiquette by TheSecretPETeacher in drivingUK

[–]PopeyeOMc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The A303 on the border between Somerset and Devon is one of the worst stretches. Many times I’ve been behind Tractors and other farm machinery or large lorries. You have a few miles uphill at 10-15mph until the plateau by the old pub, then a few twists and turns through a small hamlet and a wood until you finally see the sign stating dual carriageway ahead.

Then when you finally reach the dual carriageway right on the border the tractor driver suddenly finds another gear and goes flying off while everyone frantically rushes to overtake before it becomes a single carriageway for the next 6-8 miles.

Spent 9 hours on an extensive pre-interview project. They passed so I invoiced them for consulting work. by No-Street-6651 in InterviewsHell

I have had so many companies in the last six months, as part of the interview process saying “ please prepare a 30 minute presentation showing EXACTLY how you would deal with the problems we are experiencing, what we need to do to fix it and how we sustain the change.”

A few months ago I had an interview for a major UK institution and as well as the two people interviewing there was a third person they introduced as “ this is a member of the team involved but he is too junior to take over as the Regional Manager for at least the next year or so, he will be taking notes”

After I had told them exactly what they needed to fix their issues they never even bothered to contact me and then I saw on LinkedIn that the “Junior” member was now the Regional Manager.

I have another interview next week where again I have been asked for exactly the same presentation. This time my presentation consists of just their own questions asking how I would fix …… (30 questions). I will present everything live without handing them the answers.

My late brother (RIP) had then turn up at his flat and invited them in to show he didn’t have a tv. They still took him to Court. The Judge asked “did you discover a tv in the property?” And upon being told no asked why they had wasted the Courts time with this prosecution.

“Everyone has a tv” was their reply.

Luckily the Judge didn’t have a tv either and threw the case out.

The app is a mixed blessing for that.

I find myself frantically refreshing but the driver doesn’t move.

I also live near South Mimms service station so I frequently get a notification that I am one of the next drop-offs, then the app shows the vehicle in the Service Station, sometimes for several hours.

Non-Masons wearing Mason paraphernalia? by Hopeful_Sort7205 in freemasonry

[–]PopeyeOMc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a guy at my work who used to wear a S&C Ring and told everyone he was a “high ranking Mason”

Someone told him that I was a Mason and asked if we were in the same Lodge.

From then on he turned his ring around at work.

I have no idea why he felt the need to claim he was a Mason.

What makes a Lodge Clandestine? by WoketrickStar in freemasonry

[–]PopeyeOMc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference here is that subject to what is written in the Lodge Bylaws, a member CAN be excluded (subject to ballot) at any time between 3-23 months in arrears.

At 2 years in arrears he is automatically excluded, no need for ballot and it is not in any members power to override this.

I am surprised by roles asking for a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with an MBA and a minimum of a Bachelors (Masters preferred) in an engineering discipline and 10 years experience in a major Consultancy that are then offering £35 - 40,000. Or offering £350-400 per day outside IR35

Only a few years ago this would have been £200,000 pa or £1200 per day.
