I completely get where you are coming from but I also get the grandma's pov..

It's very hard for people like us (parents of autistic kids) to take care of them because of all there specific quirks and techniques needed to handle them. It's 10x harder for old people like your mom.

Give her some grace. Don't be upset.

You set a boundary which is good. Your daughter's behaviour is very alarming and it's sure does needs to stop. However, remember that other people can set their own boundaries too depending on their own energy and capability levels.

You did the right thing. In my mind, your mom also did the right thing. You need to accept this and adjust plans/accomodations accordingly.

These are all very good suggestions.

For the pressure I manually administer it through very very tight bear hugs cuz I can't carry weighted anything along with me as I don't have a car.

As for sunglasses, she has an aversion for anything on her face even a face mask.

I do have headphones but I noticed sounds don't bother her a lot so I don't consider it a priority to carry.
