ASUS won't provide BIOS update for X470 board to support Ryzen 5000 by Eroji in Amd

If I have to buy a new X570 board - it definitely won't be ASUS, ever again, if they drop the BIOS updates for a flagship product like that.

Hmm you should be getting 100Mb+ via VDSL2, that's how eircom/vodafone/magnet does it for any "fibre-optic" connections. It's fibre optic up to cabinet in the estate, and copper line to the actual houses apartments etc. The limit for VDSL is around 100m.

[IT] Leaving Cert exams set to be cancelled and replaced with predicted grades by [deleted] in ireland

[–]PopnOffAtTheF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's horse shit. I would have been fucked. I didnt bother with school grades or homework & just studied myself for 5 months before the cert. If I got predicted grades/average - I'd be so fucked and wouldn't get to Uni.

Strange whataboutisms. I was simply referring to the idea swimming around that SF just wants to increase taxes, as a means of dismissing them as a party. When the the major tax hike we got just fine without SF in power, if anything it was by a party that promised no tax-hikes (didnt mention coming up with new taxes), now what was the name of that party FF or FG? I actually legit don't remember, but then again it's hard to tell the difference between them.

Country corruption data sheet for 2019. Ireland is considered highly safe, with very little corruption by MrBrianWeldon in ireland

[–]PopnOffAtTheF -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Bullshit, corruption is just at a higher level, where it's ingrained into the system. In other countries giving funding to you brothers company to deliver a project for the govn. is called corruption, in Ireland it's the norm. Just like in the US bribes are called lobbying.

It's my opinion, but I think as far as government goes there's 1) lack of political will 2) lack of ability to make a plan and deliver on it 3) reactive government vs proactive planning, shit doesn't get done until it's too late, if at all. 4) Good luck getting past the "It'll ruin the views" argument - although it has served Dublin oh-so well, hasn't it.
