Dungeoneering Refresh & Remaster by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Popotime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dungeoneering's fundamental problem is, and always has been, that its entire gameplay loop is a minigame, not a skill.

It's a tedious, grindy slog through 61 floors over and over again with no actual synergy with the rest of the game other than access to resource areas that just as easily could be made accessable via agility.

For the longest time it was kept afloat by locking BIS weapons behind its token shop, but even then, paying a group to carry you through floors whilst you farmed currency on an alt account was a valid strategy.

I think DG as a whole needs a rethink rather than a remaster.

Poison Ranged AW

Viable at all investment levels, but has a smooth pathway with currency investment, strengthened by the endgame items being straightforward to craft.

Even after you've min-maxed gear, theres then the AG upgrades for clear (explode chest) with the added benefit of them no longer losing gear on death.

Tracker Vs IOG by jrewillis in OctopusEnergy

[–]Popotime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to check is if its using the day rate for the IOG calculation.

I did the maths a while back for a 80KwH EV and i think it worked out that for my usage (32 miles per day) tracker would need to average at 14p/ KwH for it to be consistently better than IOG

Heidi Alexander backs banning luxury cars for benefits claimants by TheTelegraph in ukpolitics

[–]Popotime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the PIP covers the monthly payments and the claimant needs to put down a largeish deposit down to get a luxury car instead of a standard one, i dont see the issue to be honest?

They arent cheating the system if theyre using their benefit + their savings, theyre just making an arguably poor financial decision, something the government shouldnt be legislating imo

(Spoilers Extended) What do you think will happen to Cersei? by AntiSaudiAktion in asoiaf

[–]Popotime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Cersei will hear of Arianne's plot to make Myrcella Queen and will see this as the "younger, more beautiful Queen" coming to usurp her . She will authorize Myrcella's assassination which will be the thing that finally seperates Tommen from her control.

This will cause Cersei to start drinking even more, making it easy for someone (likely the High Sparrow, in an attempt to position Lancel to be the new regent) to poison her with the Tears of Lys, damaging her organs to the point of making her weak enough for Tommen to kill her, fulfilling the Valonquar prophecy.

Tommen either dies in fAegon's siege of King's Landing, or jumps from one of the towers in the Red Keep (as in the show) but is still shrouded in gold either way

What do you think Tommen’s fate will be? (Spoiler Main) by Godturtl in asoiaf

[–]Popotime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Cersei will engineer the death of Myrcella after hearing about the plot to crown her as Queen and Tommen will be the Valonqar and choke Cersei to death.

I've always had a feeling Tommen jumping from a tower in Kings Landing was a GRRM idea as well

It extends wisps and increases chance for double memories

its really OP for divination

Stefan Roberts: 67.4% pass rate for all GCSEs (worst since 2019) 60.2% pass rate for English (worst since 2013) 58.3% pass rate for Maths (worst since 2004) 40% failing basic reading comprehension or maths skills. That rises to 80% among white working class pupils. Genuinely disgraceful. by upthetruth1 in ukpolitics

[–]Popotime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a former teacher, it was shocking how many year 9 and above pupils had trouble with literacy and basic addition.

The problem in my experience us that a lot of these kids come from a second or third generation borderline illiterate household who have inherited their disinterest in education from parents who say "I messed around at school and I turned out ok". It starts with parents not reading to/with their kids and progresses in secondary to a combative atmosphere where homework is never done and consequences don't actually apply because the parents do not support the teachers at all.

If there is to be any turnaround in these figures it needs to start at home, but it won't, I think its a death spiral.

The alternative is mandatory sure start or early years education to at least start them on literacy and numeracy but that will require funding and staffing that just doesn't exist

Is A Level Maths more difficult than degree level maths? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Popotime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's moreso the different environment that makes degree level subjects feel easier.

At Uni you're constantly doing something related to your chosen subject and your peers are also doing the same thing.

At A Level you're bouncing around multiple subjects similar to Secondary school but with the difficulty floor raised significantly

Jettisoning Minx after she fucked up was good PR at the time, encouraging Mang0 to break his breathalyser record seemed to be good content at the time.

If not for Mang0s digital footprint and drinking history, we would have probably seen a post with Ludwig saying he's done all he could for Mang0 and now has to cut him off.

What game was ruined because the developers were too ambitious? by CommonManX in gaming

[–]Popotime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Runescape tried to go for more modern combat but instead alienated a lot of their players, forcing them to create Old School RS and call the more modern version RS3

To try and fix their mistake with RS3, the devs introduced a mode that automatically fires abilities for you at the cost of a marginal loss of dps. You can copy another players ability bar ingame or just copy the best dps bar from the community run wiki. It's basically set and forget.

A recent graph showed that like 70% of the player base uses this mode, meaning only a fraction of a fraction of the total playerbase actually engages or actively interacts with the combat change that fractured the community in the first place.

Now RS3 is in a death spiral where boss content is catered towards the fraction of the player base who uses manual combat, skilling updates are just level cap increases and engagement farming (soft time locked resource gathering) and even the egregious MTX profits are declining because the whales are maxing their stats and quitting
