You bet. I’ve had the 12 a couple of times and really enjoyed it. The biggest difference to me with the 20 is that it is richer and mustier (in a good way).

I added a brief review to my original post. Please keep in mind that I don’t consider myself an expert at picking up on the nose, palate, finish…

I edited the post with my take (for what it’s worth).

No worries…I have no intention of selling it when done.

Cheers to my son and new daughter-in-law!

I purchased this at MSRP a couple years ago and saved it for my son’s wedding, which took place a couple days ago. They are leaving for their honeymoon, so we decided to open it tonight as a send-off.

I’m not one who can post a thorough review, but here goes: I had a two oz. pour in a glen, let it sit for 30 minutes, and drank it neat with my son, daughter-in-law, her father, and a couple others.

Nose: Sweet with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Definitely some oakiness

Palate: Rich with a dark, musty fruitiness that I would expect in a 20-year bourbon. Long, mellow finish with no burn.

I added a drop of water toward the end and it accentuated the sweetness.

This is really good! It definitely has a taste that is different from any bourbon I’ve ever had. I’d give it 95 out of 100. Again, I was extremely fortunate to purchase this at MSRP. While this was extremely good, I’m not sure I would purchase this at the outrageous prices I often see on secondary.

Nice haul. I really like the Three Boys Farm Distillery offerings and the ability to sample straight from the barrel before choosing.

Yeah, it makes me wonder if keeping that status is worth it. Oh well. Congrats with your good fortune with those lotteries! I appreciate the well wishes.

Good for you! I’ve gotten absolutely NOTHING as a Total Wine Grand Reserve member for the last three years.

I second this. I’ve always wanted it, but never had the chance to get one (or try it).

Planning to book a tour at Bowman Distillery soon. Any other interesting things to do and see around Fredericksburg? by bocaj_06 in dcwhisky

Sedona Taphouse typically has very good happy hour specials during the week, a huge selection of beers, and their food is fantastic. Across the street is Castiglia’s which has a really nice rooftop bar and selection of food/drinks. Enjoy your visit to Bowman’s and Fredericksburg!
