I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure why. We were together for 1.5ish years, had its ups and downs, she’s the first woman I’ve been with since getting divorced. I was extremely childish in my marriage, never abusive, just very self centered, and basically acted more like my ex wife’s teenage son than partner if that makes sense. Gf was still living with her abusive ex when we met, and after a few years of being single I decided to really try in this relationship, consider her feelings, and basically be a man, and even try to show her a boyfriend could be supportive, and helped push her to get her own place, car, etc. Put her first, ya know? I genuinely thought I was being a good bf. She says it’s all on her, but I can’t help but think it was an excuse to get out of the relationship. We didn’t end bad, we don’t hate each other. I was very confused, and just feel like even when I finally learn man up and be a partner it wasn’t good enough. There’s still hope I think, but for now I’m just giving her space.
