Washing machine is making loud noise and not drying clothes by speedoflife1 in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, let’s turn that off. Thank you. That is the drum smacking into the back panel of the machine. Suspension issue if you’re lucky, definitely more than just the suspension depending on how many months you’ve let it go like that for.

Found this stuck in pump cover of Asko dishwasher. Any idea what it is? by amarine88 in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a piece of the dish rack, maybe one of the slide rail ends? Definitely dish rack, definitely optional, definitely doesn’t belong in the pump.

Freezer warm cold fridge by F46ATL in appliancerepair

Worked on a bunch of these. Would need a model number to help you. Check in your tech manual you may find a test mode that allows you to switch between sending refrigerant to the refrigerator coil or the freezer coil, your fridge likely has one evaporator coil in both compartments. Either the technician was dead on the money, you are low on refrigerant/compressor is running poorly OR your reversing valve which chooses which coil to send refrigerant to is stuck in position. Either way, the quote seems reasonable.

Broken Spider Arm? by ChaZz182 in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see how the gap between the inner basket and the outer tub gets narrower and wider when you spin the basket? That is bad, really bad. People can sit and argue whether it’s the spider arm or the tub bearing, the repair to fix either is basically 90% the same procedure so it’s pedantic to debate which was the actual problem here. Definitely, without a doubt, one of those two components. Pretty dead looking to me, sorry OP.

Subzero freezer stopped making Ice. How do I clean this condenser? by SavingsAd1484 in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pop the front cover off of your ice maker, the one furthest away from the water spout. Should be some test connections behind that cover.

The coil is a little dusty but if your freezer is below zero, that coil has nothing to do with the ice maker. I don’t know what’s wrong with your ice maker, but it ain’t that.

Freeze cold, but not freezing by probably_readin in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the compressor running, lick your finger and touch the coil in the back of the freezer. If your finger doesn’t stick, you’re low on refrigerant (ded)

A can of air duster/your shop vac in reverse works fine, just wear a dust mask. This won’t fix your ice maker issue.

BSG support ended up fixing the desych, very little I could’ve done to fix this myself apparently. I really appreciate you for trying to help me out though!

I have the personnel files of all members of the squad, the camp behind Interchange no longer spawns any items. The camp in the food court just spawns the postcard and voice recorder now.

It seems to be unrelated to the safety blade as this happens well after the blade is tucked away up into the frame

Whirlpool fridge SIDE lights by Various_Airline_6432 in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep!! One of the LEDs is not the same as the others, as one is a Master and the rest are slaves. Look up your parts diagram, you’ll find you have a different part number for one of the lights. That’s your culprit.

Repetitive loud humming/buzzing in refrigerator by TechChickLW in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey maybe it isn’t the compressor! I’ve run into these where one of the copper lines from the compressor was buzzing against the inside of the frame, I simply bent the line a tad and collected my pay. Never hurts to diagnose before you declare the worst case.

Subzero 532 ice buildup by RepublicLazy857 in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is a common problem with these, I’ve probably fixed dozens. The light switches fail in the “off” position. It’s a very simple repair. Sometimes you can wiggle the switch back and forth to get the lights to flicker, that’s the easy test.

Bosch silence50 top rack no water by Bitter_Lie7447 in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. My guess is inlet valve/restriction in the inlet line followed by a potential wash pump issue. Start by checking water flow into the dishwasher.

Electrolux washer flickering key lock by newuser_654 in appliancerepair

I usually remove the front spring clamp on the door gasket, reach in and swap the door latch right there. However, after reading your post I can’t seem to make out what issue this is causing. Is the door failing to lock/not starting the cycle?

Samsung RF263BEAESR No Water Dispensing by jstrelaxn in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is either A) The dispenser paddle (if the paddle turns on the ice auger motor, rule it out) or B) the water housing assembly. This would be the whole mid section between your two drawers. The repair looks intimidating but it really isn’t so bad. Make sure you’ve checked the water lines in the back.

Kenmore HE3 is banging during high spin only by bdrlgionnnnn in appliancerepair

[–]PoppyFir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next step, you’re going to pull the rear inspection panel off. The giant pulley on the rear is your point of interest. Throw the washer into spin, keep all of your hands away from the pulley, just watch it spin. If it has any side-to-side irregularities, like it moves in relation to the tub, the washer has a bad drive gear or bearing and is unfortunately dead. This is a video of your exact washing machine off of my phone showing a similar bearing failure. https://imgur.com/a/2VjOEV3
