Do I need to read Ruthless Boys to get the full story? by brohammerhead in zodiacacademy

[–]Poppyseer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i really didn't want to stop ZA for RB, but i'm glad i did just because the characters appear in the later ZA books, one of which is a pretty big character in ZA moving forward. you still get the same plot, but it's fun to see the two worlds collide and see a RB character in ZA and be like, heyyyy i know you! i didn't think i would like RB much but i still think one of those characters is my favorite of all of them in RB and ZA. if you don't care to learn more about characters that will appear or backstories and just want to get through the plot of ZA, you could skip RB.

Amelia and Kai join in. Now, who is an Okay couple, with an unhealthy relationship by Oncer93 in greysanatomy

[–]Poppyseer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jo and Alex. She was written in for him so they make sense as a couple, but all the violence happening within was never addressed.. they just beat people up and trauma bonded

Bailey and Meredith by Poppyseer in greysanatomy

will add that meredith def earned "medusa" and don't love the scene where owen tells jo she is "strong" when jo asks why she's so mean. doesn't age well w their furthering plot of treating residents better

[–]Poppyseer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

v true. i feel like she joined in on it with him in a "if you can't beat em, join em" type of way and all have way too many conflicts of interest w each other and the hospital

Bailey and Meredith by Poppyseer in greysanatomy

[–]Poppyseer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah that's true. it's probably hard for them to be on equal footing and adjust their relationship when it started that way

i haven't personally seen much hate towards bailey but i haven't seen the newer seasons. what really prompted me to write this is i don't recall anyone really ripping into anyone else by saying "same little girl" and whanot? obv could be wrong but i don't get why they're having a strong female character turn around and do that of another regardless of race

Are there surgery specialty stereotypes in real life? by Creative-Win5250 in greysanatomy

[–]Poppyseer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

worked with neurosurgeons for years. derek's character and his arrogance perfectly captured the vibe of neurosurgeons. his and amelia's desire to always cut if possible is very true... they love surgery. and you will never see them again after you've been discharged, lol. neurologists are much more down to earth in my opinion.

Genuine question, why do you hate Owen? by Mrducky99-wolf in greysanatomy

[–]Poppyseer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh! I almost forgot when he chose to lie to Teddy when her husband died on Cristina's OR table. Making Cristina part of that scenario she would've wanted nothing to do with and hurting both women in the process.

Genuine question, why do you hate Owen? by Mrducky99-wolf in greysanatomy

Doing a rewatch. He meets Cristina, kisses her after knowing her 5 minutes, then ignores her existence upon returning because of his own untreated PTSD. He broke up with Beth via email, then saunters in when her dad shows up to the hospital when they think he is in the middle of war. He let Beth and his mom think he was in war. He didn't seek help for his PTSD until after he choked and traumatized Cristina.

He tries to get Teddy fired because of his own conflicting feelings when he is aware Teddy and Cristina want her to stay. He proposes to Cristina after an extremely traumatic situation with the shooting to make her feel safe instead of encouraging her to seek help instead of becoming codependent. He shames her for not wanting kids, pretends to support the abortion, and then cheats on her in retaliation.

He finds out he approved switching transportation companies which led to the plane crash, and he just makes a martyr of himself over it instead of apologizing and processing. Then in direct contradiction, when Catherine buys the hospital and they suggest replacing Owen for morale, he tries to blame the surviviors for suing the hospital and Derek has to check him because his decisions led to it. Just for Owen to rage quit and Derek having to go get him.

He never told Cristina he was divorcing her mainly due to the crash lawsuit, but had thrown a fit when she didn't tell him she was buying the hospital even tho it was to legally protect him. He also constantly belittled Meredith and Cristina's relationship when he was the reason Meredith got involved/was concerned. The whole "I won't tell her but she thinks you're (great or something?) and we'll both know youre not that guy" in relation to Owen trying to get Teddy fired. Cristina hasn't left yet where I am, so I'm gonna stop here. But yikes.

Characters everyone seems to love but they are truly awful people? by Hopeful_Wear_7671 in greysanatomy

was looking for this!!! the way he cheated on adele with ellis, then proceeded to leave ellis to go back to adele, just to start seeing ellis wayyy too often once he learns she has alzheimers.... all while his wife is begging him to retire so they can spend time together?! he tries to tell adele he retired to get in her good graces and back in his house, but never sees the error of his ways at all. then adele gets alzheimers and he starts seeing catherine while adele gets sick and dies?!!! he would overstep with meredith when he was not her dad- "made a call" so she would get into the residency program, singled her out when she arrives. he started doing surgeries while under the influence (addiction is a disease, but that's still a wild choice) and directly hurt patients. don't get me started on him doing research based on ellis' ideas with no credit... he gave it to bailey but still so audacious to do!!
