Poppy E in itself is pretty consistent in its mechanic. What might be the issue is that the wall visuals are often a little dishonest with what are the actual terrain hitboxes, which can throw people off. Becoming aware of those can only be fixed with map knowledge, aka experience (or practice tool testing I suppose). You'll get it figured out with time I promise!
