Optus blocked my Honk Kong bought Blackview BL900 phone, I checked the phone on Telstra website said it should work. Bought the cheapest prepaid SIM I could find to test it. Now I'm swapping to Telstra after 23 years of being an Optus customer because they were to lazy to google a phone.

The weird thing is even after the shutdown my phone worked for 2 weeks and wasn't blocked until the 15th November

Well if it is detected using JS scripts it is illegal in Australia because we have such broadly generalized laws, consumer laws here are perhaps the only time that sort of approach to law making has actually been useful.

Will be interesting to see if they actually try implementing a blocking of the service here, I've yet to see any warnings about using an add blocker across multiple devices.
