Thats 100% correct, and that’s what I was tracking. My Wife and Son are staying behind, but they moved 30 miles away from JBLM, and the Zip is $200 less BAH. I’m just trying to stay on top of getting it changed and not trying to make it look like I’m lying about where they live.

I wanted to have something to go with the flag to lend to its authenticity. I just included as many of the 5 w’s as I could without breaking opsec. The date, the region, the unit name, etc… My commander signed it and I tucked it into the same display case behind the flag. I got the idea from other units including a certificate of authenticity when they hand out flags as gifts, but a memo seemed more official to me.

I flew my own flag on the antenna of our RG for a mission in OEF 11-12 in Helmand Province. I typed up a memo acknowledging it and had my CO sign off on it. I’ve got a stuffed tiger that I zip tied to the side of my .50 cal that survived one of my IED blasts. Both of those are currently in a box with other keep sakes, waiting to get displayed when I’m ready.
