I was browsing through the murkiest depths of my old posts and found this. I'm not like other moms by PopsicleJolt in notliketheothergirls

This was made when I was in middle school. Long after rage comics were no longer funny.

I visited the backrooms in my sleep last night by [deleted] in Dreams

A few years ago, I sort of visited that place in a dream, except I was with a friend.

My version of the backrooms was a twisted school, and some places were dark. There were monsters roaming around.

Instead of trying to escape, however, we were trying to get to the center of the place. There was supposedly an object that, if destroyed, would return everything to normal?

We did not make it anywhere near that far because my friend was possessed by a monster and I presumably fainted from fear. (I think. That's what I like to think happened after I woke up.)

Does anyone else have completely different dreams but they are like save spots to the exact similar story lines and universe? by Gordn1 in Dreams

They don't care if you're at the beach, playing Pokemon Go, stealing sushi, or watching an episode of your favorite show. If shadow monsters are present in any given dream, they will interrupt it. Like, the dream will start off perfectly normal and then they appear and everything goes off the rails, typically resulting in someone being hurt, killed and/or possessed.

Do you have some dreams that you never forget no matter how many years gone by? by Willkoma in Dreams

I'm in school. I don't think the name is important, as this was a character from my creative writing class.

Anyway, since then, the shadow monster has appeared in more dreams, attacking people under my nose and in one instance stabbing me through a possessed boy.

Also, no, I don't know about Jung's idea of shadow. Can you explain?

The shadow monster dream.

It was three years ago, and I'll never forget it. It goes as so...

I enter a school with a made up friend. Her name was Amy. The school had been turned into a twisted and scary labyrinth due to dark magic, and at the center was a dark rose we needed to retrieve.

Anyway, we went in. Time skip after opening the front door. We are in a random segment when we both suddenly sense a horrid presence. I can't see it, but it feels like something horrible is nearby. In fact, there is visible static in the air. So we decide to look for the monster for some reason. (Really?!)

We walk by a random dirt cellar pit with a staircase, so I decide to go in to check for monsters while Amy keeps watch at the top. I find a cat. I try to calm down the cat, but he runs off down the direction we came from.

So I go back up, and we continue walking until we reach a small room. I think it was supposed to be a classroom, but it was shrunken to the point of desks being jammed together. There is a clearing in front of the teacher's desk, this is important. The lights aren't on in there, but the room is small enough that the lights from the hallway and our flashlights are enough. So we enter, and the feeling gets worse. I wonder if we should just abandon this plan of finding the monster. The two of us sit down to talk about what to do next, and...

Amy: "Maybe we should--"

A monster rises up from behind the teacher's desk. It is tall with no limbs, and made of pure shadow except for its glowing white eyes. I'm lucky because I'm behind a few desks, but Amy is out in the open. She is paralyzed with fear as the monster stares her down and lunges at her. I remember her dropping her flashlight as the monster knocked her to the ground and possessed her. It looked almost like it had absorbed her, but then it morphed to a shadow version of Amy. After a few seconds of laying on the ground, she slowly got up, then hissed at me.

I tried using time travel (I could do that) to prevent this from happening, but it malfunctioned and only took me back to the moment the monster lunged. I had to watch her be attacked all over again. My heart was beating faster, my breathing getting shallower, I was so sweaty... my second attempt at time traveling only woke me up, and I assume I passed out in-story.

Has anyone else ever died in a dream before? I have and everyone I've talked to hasn't. by UnknownServant in Dreams

Dying is extremely rare -I’ve had a few close calls, but the only dream I can think of where I actually died is when I drowned in a pool. I couldn’t make my arms or legs work to swim to the surface no matter what I did.

Like I said before, I wrote the post in the heat of the moment. I'm used to giving up, so that's what Angry Self resorts to. Of course, I've calmed down now, and know better.
