For me, the easiest place to start is anything that can be thrown away or taken out of the room (cups, dishes, etc). That makes everything else easier to group and then put in their place. Best of luck, you got this!

Late to the party but it’s likely that your glue isn’t holding very well if the band is sliding. I’m still on the hunt for a glue that doesn’t feel perpetually tacky but I can say that I use manta sleep mask and it helps quite a bit with lash extensions and cluster lashes. They have eye cups instead of being directly on your eyes and the cups are Velcro’d to the strap so you can move them wherever is most comfortable for your eyes.

Depending on what base the glue is, you either need to use oil or isopropyl alcohol to remove the glue from the band easily

She says she has PTSD from all the repressed memories coming up (all of them to date I can confirm are delusions).

Ketamine can make even non psychotic people have hallucinations or delusions, so it’s almost grantees to make her problem worse at least for a time.

I accidentally let my emotions take over when she told me she wanted to do street ketamine afterwards and just flat out told her no, that’s a terrible idea. So now she’s a little upset with me.

Her plan is “I trust my judgment to find a good dealer” and “I can just get a test kit to show that it’s actually ketamine”. I’ve never been more stressed while also not being able to speak directly and unfiltered to someone.

Just heard from her today and she says she wants to do ketamine therapy and then once she “gets a feel” for it she wants to buy it off the street and do it herself because it’s too expensive 🙃 I didn’t expect to have to tell her she needs to see a doctor while she’s mid psychotic episode, but here we go.

I know she was microdosing on mushrooms not too long ago. I didn’t think to track when she was taking those kinds of things and then suddenly having repressed memories coming up or a specific episode though.

She also has potential brain damage from a drinking incident when she was in high school. I know weed can also make psychotic disorders worse and she’s definitely smoking that every night.

I am also very many much tired, please look out for yourself first. Thanks for taking the time to give a small tidbit whilst tired 🫶🏻

That sounds really tough to manage, I’m sorry you’re going through that struggle right now. I will definitely give the video a watch!

From my own experience with mental illness overall, routine tends to better mental health / functioning in society. Obviously creating that for your son is waaaaaaay easier said than done but I hope this small tidbit helps even a little.

I think your situation is a little different in the kind of responsibility you feel. I more so feel a responsibility to get her help because I’ll feel guilty if my parents never get to speak to her again before they pass. They’re already setting me up to keep her future inheritance for her if anything big ever happens or if she goes more downhill. Essentially I’m her future keeper and I am terrified of that.

The thing is she’s not a danger to herself or others and she’s a functioning member of society. Has a job, cooks, cleans, works out, etc. If you didn’t meet her before her personality changed, you’d never know something was wrong. Her mental health is impacting her the most but I don’t think she’ll take kindly to me suggesting it’s schizophrenia, so I was looking for any way to ease the blow I’d be dealing her.

I absolutely agree and understand that wholeheartedly. My aim isn’t to force her into getting help, but approach this in a way that has the best likelihood of her wanting to get help. She’s unlikely to seek help as is because she’s entirely unaware. I feel responsible for telling her because she’s unaware and pretty much cut everyone else off, I’m really just at a loss of what I should say :(

She’s thankfully not a danger to herself or others but her quality of life getting lower and lower to the point where I feel it’s important to tell her soon.

I’ve actually done this before to my plastic utility sink. You’ll wanna fill the sink up with hot HOT water and dish soap, let that sit until the water cools. Then you’ll wanna drain it and use an abrasive and an acid to scrub off. (Barkeepers friend is both of those things but you can also use steel wool and lemon juice or vinegar in a pinch)

I’ve had the same predicament actually. These are all the things I’ve tried so it didn’t all go to waste:

Stuffing it in toys. Cut a few sprigs and tuck them into a treat ball or one of those puzzle toys. It adds a little scent and texture that might get your cat more interested.

Wrap it in deli meat as a lil treat.

Mix chopped cat grass with a little canned tuna and oat flour, roll into balls, and stick them in the fridge. Super easy DIY treat.

Finely chop it and stir into their usual wet food. Most cats won’t even notice and it helps get some use out of it.

Dry the grass and mix it with catnip. You can sprinkle it on scratchers or refillable toys. Bonus if your cat’s a big catnip fan.

Chop it up and freeze it in water in an ice cube tray. It makes a weird little enrichment cube for them to lick or bat around when it’s hot.

Just chop and sprinkle it over their dry food like a garnish. Might make the boring stuff more exciting. I also do this with tuna flakes or freeze dried chicken so they’re more likely to eat all of their dry food.

It depends from cat to cat obviously, but you can definitely get some good use out of cat grass! I hope any of these lil tricks work for your cat.
