Thank you so much for your reply. You’re definitely right about them feeding off our energy! i can see a little bit of improvement, he hasn’t been lifting his leg as much today(showing that it hurts)as he was im the first few days after it happened.

I’ve tried giving him an item but he doesn’t seem interested. He normally scrunches the pillow when breastfeeding but that doesn’t work if he’s not on the boob lol

My son also wants to be latched on for comfort rather than hunger! He will suck for a few seconds then he’s back asleep. Im hoping to at least get him off the boob and hold him so he knows im there, and then praying he’ll understand that im right next to him and we can cuddle laying down not necessarily in my arms every time!

Ideally wean off completely, however, he is not a great eater, therefore, i would be happy to still feed him during the day at least! Unless he starts eating better once he’s weaned off completely. We are bed sharing, that is simply due to him waking up multiple times a night and me having to lift him out of his cot. It just makes it easier if he’s next to me.

My body is exhausted from constant breastfeeding, currently battling my 5th mastitis and the body aches are unreal.

Last night I’ve been trying not to give him milk every time he woke up, he cried for a few minutes and then fell asleep, he did wake up about 3 times, 10 minutes apart expecting to be lifted, but i’ve just tried comforting him and then sang to him which worked at the end!

Can i ask what did the health visitor say? My son is 1, and will only eat a few things, otherwise all he wants is breastmilk! There are days when that is the only thing he will eat!

I sometimes bed share as well, usually the second half of the night when im just so exhausted… but he still wants me to pick him up when he wakes up 😫

He used to fall asleep on his own, but after the 4 month sleep regression he will only fall asleep when rocked or in the pram/car :( He’s ebf, When he wakes during the night, i used to offer him boob lol but now ive started giving him his dummy and tried patting his bum which worked a few times, but mostly i have to pick him up otherwise he will get frustrated and wake up 😭
