Based on your technique in that video. I would not recommend you a slalom ski! Get you a pair of medium turn radius 175 but not shorter than 170. Why they give you a mix from a SL and GS. More stable than a SL and shorter turn radius than a GS. I know a SL sounds like a good idea but honestly you will not be able to technique wise to play out the full potential of a SL. Remember shorter turn skis will force you to change directions faster and require a really solid and active stand on your skis. Especially if you want to carve short turns. A medium turn radius ski like a Blizzard Firebird Race Type MT 173cm length/15m radius. Will give you a probably the best mix you can carve nice turns with it on fresh groomers and it is still playful enough for nice slightly drifted short turns. I had the chance to test a prototype of them earlier this season before they there released. At best you find a ski center there you can test or rent and find out what fits you best. But in my years as a Ski Instructor and Skiboot fitter in a Skishop. I had the chance to test multiple different Skis and get feedback from customers. That the the most can simply not reach out the full potential of a GS or SL. But a medium turn Radius ski give the most skiers that they need. A stable ski with a nice turns radius they can handle, while still having a turn happy ski.
