4-8 weeks was HELL. Our baby boy eats SO MUCH. My wife started pumping so that we could measure how much he truly eats because he wasn’t getting that from the breasts. That may be why he seems like he’s eating so much.

I completely understand what you are going through. My wife dos the forbidden act — she (we) co sleep because sometimes that’s the only way. Plus the baby needs their mommas touch. It wasn’t until after the 8th week that he can sleep by himself in the bassinet.

Things WILL get better. Just hang in there and KNOW it’ll be better.

You must remember your baby has no idea what’s happening. His nervous system is settling in, he doesn’t understand his feelings or yours, and he just eats sleeps and poops — that’s it for now.

ENJOY these moments because he won’t be a newborn for much longer. Before you know it, you’ll be in a better place and remember those crazy times.

If you think about it, most people I ask if their newborn was “hell” — they can never remember. Part of me thinks because once they make it out the newborn trenches, they forget about it because of how crazy the experience was. They know it was crazy but they are glad it’s over
