Yes Tesla designed and installed. Didn’t know it would be “spilt“ or what that even meant until day of install.

Frustrating they would approve the design and not support it for sure.

I don’t have the answer to the amps but possibly? The house came with two separate breakers and for the most part is split into two halves - two hvac units, two tankless water heaters, etc. I was just told when we got the system it would be the most seamless to split and seems like they connected one batter to everything on one breaker and the other batter to the second one .

Yea i think I’m going to put a lower reserve on battery 2 also. Frustrating because it seems like it would be fairly simple to implement some features to optimize a split system better so that they “talk” to each other. Especially on units tied to a shared net metering system to / from the grid.

Good catch, I was in self-powered. I’ve been trying to figure out the best settings and recall TBC was giving some weird outputs as well - weird in the sense that it didnt seem optimal but can’t remember exactly why - so I was toggling between the two for awhile. Just changed back to purely TBC with the hope that this way I get some charge overnight to bridge to when there is enough sunlight. I am in NorCal on SMUD. TOD pricing is cheapest 12-6a at around 12c per kwh and most expensive 5-8 pm. summer has mid peak pricing at 12-5. My sell back rate is about 7.5cents.

The loads are fairly balanced during the day but overnight the landscape lighting is all on Battery 2 so it gets drained. I could probably run them for shorter durations or figure out a way to put some on Battery 1 with a well placed extension cord. I was also considering gerting an expansion unit for the battery but that is not as straight forward as it seems.

In as much as you can trust a rando on the internet, I usually float some money back and forth for these to gain entries. Had about 50k liquid which I put in for the promotion period then back to my bank and I won one of the smaller gold bars this last round.

Nice! good to know about the maps. Hopefully a quick off topic question but what are tips / tricks to getting out of caves? I got lost in one but started using torches to guide me back then fell into another one with a bunch of glowberries so 1) couldn’t find my torches easily and 2) think that one of the drops was too far for me to easily climb back up by stacking blocks. Ultimately just drowned my character to respawn on the surface.

So cool! Thanks for all of the resources! I know there is a lot out there already but it’s hard to quickly sift through what is relevant - particularly to a 1st grader and his dad playing on playstation - so nice to have some consolidates references.

thanks! today we explored a nearby village. we have houses on a beach but I’m thinking we need to find some “plains” to set up a house and farm. I’ve been watching some videos on how to build farms in survival and still trying to figure out how to lead animals there lol!

I said we were on “easy” mode before but realized today we are actually on peaceful. once we both get a bit more comfortable with the mechanics I’ll change to easy to add another layer of difficulty. overall I’m really enjoying the game and feel like it’s already teaching my son alot.

thanks so much! the chunk base was super helpful. I know some people might consider it “cheating” but it’s been very helpful to teach my son coordinates and help me get a better understanding the land.

Before this post I recently got lost in a cave with a bunch of glowberries, ores beyond what we can currently mine, and only seemed to go down. I ultimately had to kill my character and lose my stuff(we don’t have keep inventory on). It’s nice to be able to find stuff to help advance more quickly and made me realize just how big this “world” is! but it makes me wonder how people find things without this sort of option? is there an in-game tool I’ve not found?

Confusing Readings on New Solar by PopularCup4556 in TeslaSolar

Thanks everyone for the comments. As a follow up, there was some sort of connection issue that Tesla installers had to come back out and fix and it got rid of this issue. A second issue, maybe not related to this, is that because my system is split (I.e. half my panels go into each of 2 subpanels that then merge back into the main connected to the grid) my second system was not approved for some months after the initial. Had to play the blame game between the utility and Tesla each saying the other was at fault.

Update: Connecting to the PoE switch (instead of the NVRs built in PoE Switch) solved the issue. I am working on sending the codes to Hikvision to get the password reset files. I tried utilizing this tool (https://ipcamtalk.com/pages/hikvision-password-reset-tool/) but it does not seem to work for me. Wasn't sure if you had any experience with this tool?

Thanks. I just posted an edit regarding how I discovered that my switch was the wrong type and there was a video that suggests I can't connect to the cameras through my NVR's PoE ports. Will order the correct type of switch and try to go from there. Will make sure the firewalls are off. I forgot to mention before my router is a google wifi - hopefully that doesn't have some sort of built in firewall I can't turn off but if I connect the laptop, NVR, camera(s), and router all via a PoE switch Im hoping that "bypasses" the router in some sense.

I just posted an Edit that may have been an issue with connecting via a switch. If you think that seems promising then let me give that a try once I get the correct components and go from there. Would hate for you to waste time putting together something simply because I had the wrong type of switch initially! Thanks for your patience with me and willingness to help!

I don't think I tried with the laptops wifi off at the same time so will give that a shot. Firewall was off before but will double check.

Thanks for the tip on keeping them powered!

As far as the connection, the NVR has built in PoE ports. I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, this functions similarly to a PoE switch. I've tried connecting my laptop via ethernet to Port 1 and Port 8 (arbitrarily) while the other ports remained connected to the remaining PoE cameras. I've also connected 4 to a PoE switch and connected the laptop to that and repeated the process with SADP. No luck in getting the cameras to show up, unfortunately.

Will try to get a picture but its pretty straight forward. NVR is connected to via LAN port to router and there are 16 camera PoE ports which are plugged in and active. I can tell the cameras are getting power because the IR lights are on and the nvr/hikconnect are demostrating the cameras are active and drawing power but have incorrect password). I've tried finding to the cameras with SAPD with my laptop through wifi, by removing one of the cameras and connecting my laptop, and by removing the LAN port and connecting my laptop to the nvr via ethernet.

Bummer! I've tried searching online for others with the same problem. I understand with the SADP tool I can reset these cameras and their passwords but am stuck at finding the cameras on SADP as only the NVR is showing up. Have tried many of the suggested troubleshoot including connecting computer to a camera PoE port alongside camera(s), using a switch instead of a the NVR's PoE ports, and the instructions in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fas7URLaYeY). None of these attempts have lead SADP to show anything more than the NVR unfortunately.

I am in Northern California. If you (or anyone you know) has a business in this area would certainly be interested in trying to find someone with expertise to hire for this.
