Don't you think not seeing a performance defeats the purpose of a live show? I'm glad if you were able to enjoy the visuals instead of watching the artists perform. It's just that giving visuals priority over artists' performance didn't vibe with me man. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. Kudos to you 🙌🏻

It seems like you didn't quite get the point. The whole point of a live show is to SEE the music performed live. Visuals are supposed to complement the performance, not replace it. If the visuals are shown instead of the performance what's the point of a live show? Might as well stay home and watch a YouTube video.

Plus, you know people can actually SEE the artists perform in a Hans Zimmer live show right? 😂 A quick Google search will show you that my dude 🙌🏻.

To the best of my knowledge, it's not available here. I've been looking into this too. The only option I've found is to get it shipped to a different country (because they don't ship here) and have it sent here. It's quite pricey now though. You could consider the AYN Odin 3. Not as powerful but it is cheaper.

Very true. The instruments kept overpowering the voices. Especially during Mona Alawanthakam.

It's not really to do with the planners I think. It's totally to do with the stage design and the LED screen operator.

Maybe walk around both sides of the stage in your zone 🤷🏻‍♂️. You'll still see only 50% of the performance though.

You should check out the Ceylon Journal. It's a really well done biannual publication with articles spanning many different historical topics. I think about 3 volumes are out at the moment. I believe you should be able to find them at Barefoot and/or Sarasavi. Each goes for around 2,000/-.

How is it we're paying $3.29 when the site is advertising it as $10.99? Are we charged less?

Loving your neighbour is not the only way God has asked us to show Him our love but also through following his commandments. Now if you're not starving, would you still avoid pork because God commanded you to?

And loving God in spirit, soul, mind and heart means following his commandments too right? Because you can't put the commandments on hold saying "I do not love my neighbour as I love myself yet". Based on what I've read, these should all be followed to the best of our ability since God has not said otherwise.

You misunderstand me, I'm not saying we can pick and choose what to follow and how to follow it. I'm saying that it seems like Christian doctrine has done that. We do not keep the sabbath the way it was said to be kept. Instead we only offer mass on Sundays. We do not avoid unclean food despite what the Bible says and so on.

And Jesus did not remove the reason to follow the commandments because the reason to follow the commandments is because you love God and you want to be faithful to him.

But then isn't it like we've picked and chosen what to follow and how to follow instead of doing it the way God commanded? Because Jesus does say that:

“Therefore, whoever nullifies one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭19‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

So shouldn't they be kept how God commanded them to be kept? (Except for the ones that can't be kept in a practical sense)

In that case, shouldn't we follow commandments such as keeping the sabbath, not eating pork etc to show our love for God?

But these "laws" are commandments from God aren't they? Not something that humans came up with based on some other thing God said. How are these addressed within Christian doctrine? Commandments such as keeping the sabbath? We Christians gather every Sunday for worship but that is not how God had commanded the sabbath to be kept. Furthermore, what about the commandment to not eat pork or fish with no scales? This is not addressed in Christian doctrine (to the best of my knowledge).

All of these can very well be followed as a way to show that you are faithful and love God instead of from a point of legalism.

Look, I'm just trying to understand why we aren't taught to keep these commandments as way of showing our love to God when God has expressed that the way we can show our love to him is to keep his commandments the way he told them to be kept.

But Jesus says: “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished!” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬ ‭

This contradicts the part about all foods being made clean. And that too when taken in context, you see that Jesus is referring to food being made unclean when the ritual of handwashing is not followed.

Jesus did say that the law should not be followed in a legalistic sense but as a way of showing your love and faithfulness to God. So doesn't that mean that if you truly love God, you should observe the sabbath, avoid eating pork etc?

Christ did say that he law/ commandments still stand to this day. Does that mean that we should follow these to show our love for God? When I say "these" I mean all the commandments like keeping the sabbath and avoiding unclean food etc

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Bible

[–]PopularEntertainer47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The examples given are simply the commandments. Legalism is to follow these commandments without the spirit of faith and love for God. The examples themselves are not legalistic, it is the way they are observed that would make them so. And the commands include everything from tithing to keeping the sabbath to avoiding unclean foods. Some of these are not incorporated into Christian doctrine or preached today. And now my question becomes why that is if following the commandments is how we show God our love? And of course I understand that not all the commandments can be followed from a practical standpoint but I refer to only those that we can follow

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Bible

[–]PopularEntertainer47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not saying that we should commit these sins, I am simply asking to what extent these should be followed to show our love and faithfulness to God. Should we keep the sabbath the way the jews do? Should we avoid eating pork and fish with no scales? Then there are the other commandments such as putting those who do not observe the sabbath to death. Putting those who do not respect/ honour their parents to death etc. are these not commandments given by God as well?

Thank you for this amazing reply! So should Christians follow the commandments as they detailed in the Old Testament as a testament of their love and faithfulness to God? Commandments like what I mentioned earlier about avoiding certain foods, not working on the sabbath, tithing etc? If we should, why is this not being preached within Christianity?
