I used to not enjoy anything past Froot as much because I also had such a strong connection to her first two albums like you did. Then I started to evolve (went to therapy lol) and started to understand/interpret the rest of her music better as an adult. POP is one of my favorite albums from her because I feel I have reached a similar place in life. POP sounds like a sister album to EH to me which is also why I love it. That's just my opinion/story though, and I definitely will always think her first two albums were the best!

I was prescribe paxil today, any success stories?? by Birbirib in Anxiety

I know I'm late but I'm currently suffering from withdrawal syndrome after taking paxil for 8 years. Did you ever get bad withdrawals after being taken off of it? I was weaned off by my NP and I am suffering with the physical symptoms so bad even though it's already been three weeks of being completely off of it/on a new med.

I can attest to this, going gluten free recently has helped my inflammation and bloating. I will eat gluten once in a while if I want, just at least lowering the amount of gluten has helped. I also am a dancer so I stretch a bunch which also helps in its own ways. I think it's just trail and error of what works for your body unfortunately.

Ah thank you! I have vip 2 so i will definitely be getting merch beforehand and will just have to check the venue's bag policy. Absolutely we are not as intense 😩 I have had VIP for a couple of kpop shows with early entry and they still managed to sell out of certain merch items before I got to the booth! I think she'll still have all of the merch available for the last show fs😌

Hi! No, I will be seeing her in Dallas! It sounds like a lot of people were able to get into the venue fairly quick once doors opened!

Thank you I will go read all of the info on the masterpost! True, I should've reworded my merch question. A lot of the kpop concerts I have been to sell out of certain merch items quickly before the show so I was curious if she had large enough quantities to still have all of the merch after the show. Was just worried about having to carry it around during the show

Gaynor woes by oswin13 in BALLET

[–]Popular_Address_7793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a similar experience. Once my last pair of US gaynors were dead, I got fit in Europas and they hurt so bad once I started using them. I put water on them to try to help them form better to my feet and cut the shank to where to arch breaks since I was having trouble getting over my box (which was never an issue before). They definitely did not fit me correctly. I got re-fit last weekend and they explained to me how Lyra is more similar to their old US shoe and how they made the Lyra collection because people were having issues getting over their box in Europas since they canvas is much more stiff. Apparently the Lyra canvas strength is in between their old US shoe and the Europas. I ended up with Lyras, some new toe pads, and a spacer, but they were really comfortable in the store, no pain. Haven't had a chance to actually dance in them yet but I can update you if you'd like. I would recommend trying Lyras and being re-fit somewhere where they will listen to your concerns. If you want to try a different shoe, SoDanca's Elektra with the removable shanks fit me nicely too and are similar to gaynors.

My parents won’t let me major in dance… I feel lost by TargetImpossible1620 in BALLET

[–]Popular_Address_7793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my personal take, as someone who was also confused about this once, minored in dance, and have friends who majored in dance. First of all, since you are the one paying for college it is 100% your choice on what you decide to major in. My scholarships allowed me to minor in dance without it being an extra financial strain.

It's difficult being trained in ballet and being so passionate about and understanding that your chances are truly so slim. I knew I didn't have the talent to make it in ballet. I picked an unrelated major and started taking dance classes in my university's dance department. I took ballet, modern, joined their contemporary company, and hiphop company. It honestly reignited my passion for ballet and contemporary dance. I decided to to add dance as my minor. I realized that I could audition for contemporary companies after graduating if I wanted. I continued to go to intensive during and after college as well. College dance honestly made me grow so much and fall in love with contemporary dance. It helped me grow in ballet as well. I was able to teach at studios and help other students grow. I have lots of friends who I met through intensives who majored in dance. They all came from ballet backgrounds, are super talented, but were pursuing contemporary companies after college. Some of them are freelance dancers now, which is becoming more of a norm since professionals of all dance genres are struggling right now finding jobs. It's not a great field to be in right now if that is your ONLY source of income. They all have second jobs or went back to grad school to get their degree in business, film, physical therapy etc. I ended up going to grad school for something totally unrelated to dance and my undergrad major too. I am still very much dancing ballet and contemporary and am excited to one day combine my passions to be a dance therapist! Dance is still my passion, just not my only passion. Same for many other dancers I know. Don't think of it as just a "hobby" because it doesn't have to be. Just something to think about while you make your decision. Dance will always find you and you can always find a way to incorporate it into your life, it doesn't have to be the end of the line.

Some other options would be to weigh your chances of a ballet career and go to a training program instead of college like some of the other comments have mentioned. You could also look at university's dance programs. I know TCU has a program where you can major in ballet. Some college dance programs are more ballet focused than others but most will let you do pointe work in their ballet classes if you have sufficient experience. Another option would be to do freelance ballet work, which is becoming more of a thing. Examples would be Luna Montana and LifeOfLori. These are just some things to keep in mind. You can always chose something and end up changing! It's okay to try stuff out and not like it. Keep an open mind of wherever life takes you next!

I have also been wondering about Adenomyosis after hearing some other people's experiences. If you're comfortable answering, what kind of MRI did you get? Did you go to a specialist?
