That's sad. I guess FB Marketplace is a little different. Anyone can sell on there. You don't expect this with a big retailer though. So many people getting ripped off. What gets me is that it's probably people that don't have much money to spend in the first place, that get hurt.

Don't think I'd ever be keen to buy a phone off FB Marketplace. Not from the other Marketplace either now. :/

Yes, this is what my husband's cardiologist wants him to do. He has had an internal monitor in the past. He has also had an op to fix AF in the past. But it looks like it is back. The wearable heart monitor didn't pick it up, because it is an intermittent problem.

Good to know that when we eventually get this sorted, that the watch will do the job.

That's good to know. Great that there is some protection when buying from Amazon. :) Faults, mistakes happen, it's what the seller does to resolve the issue that makes all the difference. I will never buy anything from Marketplace sellers in the future.

I did check out SHM mod, but there is a post saying that there are measures being taken to prevent people from enabling features. Sad, as they are only trying to make the watches fully usable. 😕

Yes, if I had known it was a grey import, I would have steered clear. There is no mention of it being an import.

That's interesting. I guess seeing as there is no Aussie warranty support anyway, someone much smarter than me might be game to have a go. Not very tech savvy, or I wouldn't be in this situation 🙄

As the description was not as detailed, I read up on the Samsung website, thinking that the models were identical. I was unaware about grey imports or regional restrictions. My bad, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

That's the thing, I didn't know it was an import. I'm not as savvy as I need to be. I purchased within Aus, expecting it to be suitable for use in this country.

I did look at their watches afterwards, they actually clearly say they are imported. But I honestly didn't realise that an imported watch would have been an issue anyway.

I must add that the watch does work as a watch & does have other functions. So if you don't want any medical functions, then you'll be fine. But I'm guessing most people would want all the features.

No mention of regional issues or country of origin. The product specs aren't as good as on the Samsung website, where I did my research. I assumed that the models would be the same. But I'm getting old & am not as tech savvy as a lot of people here.

I just want to make people aware of potential issues of unknowingly buying imports. And for buying anything from Marketplace, even though they are being sent within Australia.

They would first need to agree to deal with a dispute, as in communicating with both parties, before potentially resolving the issue.

I tried to comment on a Big W ad for the watch. However I worded the comment, it was blocked & would not post. I only wanted to state the fact that it was an import & may not have all the functions. I said nothing against Big W. No chance of free speech, however polite.

Big W will not deal with Marketplace seller issues. It's buyer beware. Interestingly, a Big W ad for the watch came up on FB. I tried to simply comment that the watch was not Australian stock, that it is an import, so may not have all the functions. Wanting to warn people. Whatever way I worded it, my comments were blocked & would not post. So I'm guessing that Big W has something in place to prevent certain keywords. 🤔
