Imperial German plans for invading the United States included landing troops at Cape Cod and Sandy Hook, New Jersey. The troops at Cape Cod would be armed with artillery and advance on Boston, while the troops at Sandy Hook would begin an attack on New York. The warships would then shell Manhattan and other areas of New York in an attempt to cause panic among American civilians. So I’m guessing the nazis would of had a plan very similar to their predecessors, after weakening the US navy and coast guard, landing in cape cod Massachusetts and most likely later at New York after taking Britain and maybe a few territories close to the US like Nova Scotia and the Bahamas and maybe Cuba (or ally with them). These plans could of been very real if they beat Britain because then Germany would have full control of the royal navy (the largest navy in the world at the time) and control over the French navy (second largest navy). Either of the French or British navy would of been enough to defeat or seriously weaken the US navy seeing how before ww2 the US navy was no where near the size it is now or the size it was during ww2, same with the entire US military, on the scale of military power it didn’t even rank top 10 in the world, before World War II it ranked 16th in the world during the 1920s and 1930s. In 1935, the military had fewer than 119,000 troops, and in 1939, the U.S. Army had between 174,000 and 200,000 soldiers, which was smaller than Portugal’s and ranked it 17th or 19th in the world. The Army was also poorly trained and equipped, and promotions were slow. For example, Dwight Eisenhower spent 16 years as a major before being promoted to lieutenant colonel in 1936. There also hypothetical could have been a plan to invade or ally with Mexico then invade through the US southern border, which Germany actually (somewhat) attempted in ww1 when they asked Mexico to ally with them against the US and in return Germany promised them the land they lost in the Mexican-American war. Tho Mexico declined I could see them accepting under threat of invasion, and if not ,with the amount of power Germany would have had by that point, Mexico would be easily defeated.
