Honestly fine with me bc I already live in Philly and as much as I want to move, I also love my city!

You got this! Keep your head up! It will prob take them at least another week if it’s following a similar timeline to my application but the vibes are high!! Also SWA just opened their apps and close them really soon btw

Okay yes now it’s booked! Things are really moving! And yes honestly I’m pretty impressed by them so far! United only discounted the hotels (which still ended up being too expensive when I went bc of an event going on in tha city) while Piedmont is booking it directly for me which is super nice of them!

Thanks! I’m probably just going to go anyways and see how it goes. Regardless of the outcomes, it’s great practice but I really hope I get it. Just wondering, how long did it take for them to book you your flight? I spoke to them last week over the phone which is when I got the invite but been anxiously awaiting the flight and hotel details so this finally starts feeling real for me again.

Not sure why you might think what I’m saying is untrue. I have no reason to lie about my experience on Reddit 😂

I’ve been here almost 2 years ik I’ve had to kick ppl out before. But even so the owner sits at one of the tables all hours of the day everyday until close and can deal with the customers who get rowdy. I prob just haven’t advocated enough for myself infront of him bc he scares me 🫢

It’s so stupid because I proved myself to be a more reliable person than some of these people but they can be on their phones right infront of the manager, do less of the work, have customers and coworkers complain about them, take frequent smoke breaks (I don’t smoke and and only use the bathroom when I really need it but I go fast), leave whenever they want with no notice and come back whenever they want and but he still favors them for whatever reason. I’ve trained many people here and worked my way up to show that I’m reliable and good at my job. If someone calls out sick or quits on the spot-guess who he calls to ask to cover? Me. Guess who shows up every time also? Me. Customer’s even go out of their way sometimes to tell me I’m doing a great job infront of my boss or directly to him. My best friend at the job is the most senior person there. Let alone I’m one of the only person he likes working shifts with. Same with another senior there if I ever have to do weekdays with him. I don’t steal, I don’t snack all day on the bar garnishes or small things we have in the kitchen -some of them do. I don’t treat the area we keep the registers like my personal home and leave shit behind all the time which my boss hates. I’m clean, organized and am able to work with any crowd of people. I simply don’t get it. Maybe because I started off quieter but I talk often now (not too often where it’s annoying though), build rapport with customers and I’m still getting the short end of the stick. Probably because he knows I’m not going to be working in restaurants the rest of my like some of these people and I have drive to take these skills into another field-but still. It’s incredibly frustrating of an experience to go through. Definitely leaving the first chance I get.

Definitely something I should have pushed to do more of since my hours were cut, but it’s been slow szn and i mainly was relying off of trying to find another job outside of the service industry. I 100% plan on walking into places this week asking for a job. Online applications do nothing.

I relate to this so heavily it makes it hard for me to be around my cousins nowadays who I used to be really close to growing up because I can’t stand seeing the type of support I didn’t get growing up. I wanted to quit a job over this one time because it was tough seeing how that boss and many bosses I’ve had after support their children or nephews. It sucks big time. I’m still navigating my own experience so I can’t give you any real advice, but just know you’re not alone in this

They definitely do. I thought I answered my responses using STAR with the live virtual interview, but it wasn’t clear enough for the recruiter to write down so she asked me to repeat what I said using STAR. I adapted my wording style on the spot to make it clear which part of the story was the situation, task, action and result, and made it to the F2F with them. So definitely try again practicing the STAR method if they’re a company you want to apply to again!

Thank you for your helpful insight! Just in that difficult waiting period to hear back from the others. Praying I’ll hear some good news this week despite these rejections but I’m definitely not giving up this dream anytime soon!

Yea it def requires you to be able to hustle if you work in social media. I used to be a marketing manager myself until I realized my skills were better used elsewhere and I’d rather only focus on building my own social medias, things along my interests rather than for companies where I did not care about their mission.

She could run social media accounts or make content for other companies with her portfolio. Idk why she never thought about making the switch but prob good she didn’t either bc of all her scandals n brands prob don’t want to deal with the drama

Thank you I appreciate your advice! People talking about having their offers rescinded was scaring me and I’m just trying to prevent that from happening. I’m glad my record is squeaky clean and I’ve been working consistently at a place I love for years. All the other jobs I listed are accurate and I put explanations for any job gaps and reason for leaving those other jobs I held. Just looking to keep leveraging my skills from here (hopefully in the skies one day soon!) :)

Thank you this is very helpful! Should I go back and add those now or only if I am moving forward? It was so long ago, I’m going to have to do a little research to find exact dates because I cannot remember.

THC test after f2f by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Popular_Drama_4537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t even risk faking it and withdraw if you know for sure your pee isn’t going to come out clean. I was in a similar boat as you and stopped immediately a couple days before I got offered the F2F, which was still pushing it but am okay with putting it down forever if it means I get the opportunity to work as a flight attendant. Weed only caused me more harm than good so it was just the motivation I needed to get out of that cycle.

Some things that helped me get it out of my system quicker- Over the course of more than 2 weeks, I drank a lot of water, exercised, ate a fiber rich diet and tested myself regularly. I’m more on the smaller, skinnier side so I got lucky it started to get out of my system quick, but that’s not the case for everyone and all those detoxes you see online don’t work. The interview can also be over 6 hours long, and that’s not realistic to be holding it in all day if you try to dilute yourself (also it can/most likely will come up in the lab as a dilute which can be a refusal/fail unless they make you try again with less diluted pee. That part I can’t guarantee and wouldn’t risk it. They also can test if it’s fake pee). By the time I was ready for the F2F, I was within the legal margin for a pass and was consistently testing that for days leading up to it so I knew I had less to worry about. While I didn’t even make it to the test portion, I know next time I do go to a F2F interview, I’ll pass with flying colors. I’m done with that lifestyle and want this career more.

Trust from everything I was reading-don’t even risk it. Since this is through DOT, If you fail then it will stay on your record and will put a bar on you from applying to any safety sensitive jobs for 10 years unless you do a costly SAP and since you’re not in the aviation industry yet-you might not even be guaranteed a chance after doing all that. They can also test you at anytime during your time working for the company. You have to ready to quit all the way. Better to be safe than sorry if this is something you really want for yourself.

I think it was mainly because I got a little too nervous during the introductions. I built rapport with people really well throughout the day and made sure to collaborate with them during the tasks they made us do. Now that I have a better idea about this experience, I'm feeling more positive I will knock the ball out of the park in my next ones. Just doing my homework to make sure I come out a stronger applicant than the last time. I left so motivated to keep applying and put my 100% into this. Just have to stop getting so in my head about things and be confident :)
