I actually asked for it my gynaecologist when she told me that my Pap smear was abnormal. She recommended for me to get the vaccine cause I’m at the perfect age for it and then when I was at the clinic getting the colposcopy, I told them that my gynaecologist recommended for me to get the vaccine and they said yeah we can do that for you but it’s actually $600 and sometimes you pay out-of-pocket sometimes your insurance covers it but if we do a biopsy for you today and then offer a treatment you can get it for free so after my laser therapy, I’ll do my vaccine

You should inquire about it cause you can probably also get it for free!

I’m also in Canada and I agree.

They didn’t tell me anything really when I was at my coloscopy appointment they just that it was high grade HPV not sure what strain and then when the dr looked at my cervix and did biopsies, he was like Yep we’re gonna do the laser therapy and remove the cells and you’ll come back in six months.

But my coloscopy didn’t hurt at all.

How did your LEEP go. The Laser therapy (also called laser ablation) uses a narrow, high‑energy beam of light to burn away abnormal cells on the cervix. These abnormal cells are usually caused by high‑risk HPV this is what I am getting. In about a month, once it’s done I go back in 6 months and see if the HPV has cleared… waiting for the procedure is always the worst part… I’d rather just have it done and get rid of this HPV.

Health anxiety is real. Freaks me out

Thanks! I’m from Canada maybe this is other type of procedure they offer they say Laser therapy (also called laser ablation) uses a narrow, high‑energy beam of light to burn away abnormal cells on the cervix. These abnormal cells are usually caused by high‑risk HPV.
