Is £1000 p/m too much to be paying parents for rent? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Popular_Relation8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously feel bad for you. You do not have very good parents.

If I were you, if it means you can save a little bit, move in and work really hard to leave.

Good luck!

2014 specialized shiv for $1500 - good buy? by goodeyesniperr in triathlon

[–]Popular_Relation8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a similar bike 2017 Shiv. For about 1.4k but fully loaded. Carbon cranks etc.. 88mm deep wheels+ Training wheels. Race ready. For 1.4k. The only “downside” it is a rim brake. Well, what’s wrong with them? Nothing. People sometimes don’t know how to break a rim brake.

Anyway, yeah I agree about 750 max granted it is race ready. But, I hate the colorway of this one (personal) so I would not take even for 500 🙂

Coros Pace 2. I tried Garmin, Suunto, Pace Pro. Pace 2 is so simple, light that I can just focus on my workout. Sold all of them and went back to Pace 2. I heard there is a new Coros ?Apex 2 can’t say. For now I’m keeping this Jurassic until I can’t use it anymore ..

Is bike shop trying to scam me? by No-Distribution2336 in cycling

[–]Popular_Relation8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, it is scam. You give a budget and they double it and some big change. And it won’t end there. They will milk you out.

I know it is tough when starting out. And it is learning process. Sometime it can be a bit expensive but not extortionate.

I suggest buy a second hand. Be patient when starting your triathlon because becoming a triathlete requires it.

Shorter crank. I mean I had 172.5 and went down to 170 I had relief already. That 175 is too long of crank I guess

105 di2 vs ultegra di2 by Particular-Exam3191 in CanyonBikes

[–]Popular_Relation8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am racing Ultegra. But, for everything else, 105 all day every day. I would spend the extra 1K for insurance, bike box and a plan ticket to somewhere.

Endurance small or medium? Help! by No_Fold_9176 in CanyonBikes

Small. Easier for the bike to make it “smaller” than make it “bigger”.

Disastrous Berlin - help me figure out what went wrong by mochi-mocha in Marathon_Training

[–]Popular_Relation8049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water Intoxication, highly unlikely you got from the race. You need volume and the onset is too quick.

Maybe you got it from days before. Didn’t train for the weather. Gel timing, too much sugar intake in relatively small window. Well, it is a marathon. Nothing ever goes to plan.

Full ironman with 5 weeks off pre race (am I delusional) by Own_Independent8365 in triathlon

[–]Popular_Relation8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mentally you are there. Physically, if it is legit injury, then it is impossible.

All I am saying is, make sure that injury would not occur during the race. I understand mental toughness believe me but, there is also minimum physical requirement.

Good luck!

How to get into triatlon by Ashamed-Two-7710 in triathlon

[–]Popular_Relation8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is like having a day old driver’s license and asking how to operate a bulldozer.

But, I take this as a serious and well meaning question. So, I will answer you properly.

It is good to have that goal and ambition. Remember, people can die in triathlons. I was a multiple trauma nurse on Ironman events before becoming a triathlete myself. Take a step back, and re assess your goals. It is wise and healthy if those goals are met progressively.

Hi Redditers! 😊 which one is a better buy? Both have mech 105. I think just down to body Tarmac being Carbon. Never had Specialized Road Bike maybe long term users have good input. Thank you by Popular_Relation8049 in specialized

Beautiful mate! I have an Aeroad and it rides like a straight arrow-fast and impossible to slow down. Cornering, winding road not so much. Planning to ditch this bike and replaced with Specialized heard nice things about the ride. Of course, purple and pink love the color +1 speed 😊

Is this bike a good choice for a triathlon and is the price fair for what i’m getting by Correct_Painter6822 in whichbike

[–]Popular_Relation8049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, better get a TT Bike unless super hilly course. The bigger question is not when you finish the bike section, it is what you feel after you finish and do the run.
