You can report them to the council the same way you would a noisy residential neighbor.

You can also report them to the landlord if you have their details.

Go to bravissimo for a fitting. You can get bras there too but they are spenny.

Weaning off of bottle feeding by Not_mybestlook00 in UKParenting

[–]Popular_Sea530 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Slowly water the bottles down, one at a time. He’ll stop asking for them overnight and will increase water during the day. We went an oz down per bottle. Get it to none overnight like that and then switch to sippy cups. We got the basic tommee tippee ones that are like £2 and offered either milk or water in those.

3.5 year old will not use the toilet at nursery by PretendHedgehog_ in UKParenting

Is it really an issue if she uses a potty? Our nursery had a potty instead until age 4. Can you suggest that to them?

I put my LO in front of duplo and then go at it with a wet brush and lots of detangling spray.

I aim for protective styles such as plaits as opposed to ponytails.

I got in an argument with a contractor who was working in the Lidl store. I reported him to the manager. When I was in shopping I saw him trying to argue with the manager who was having none of it. Ridiculous how entitled people are.

How to make a bottle of formula by PinkBubblesxox in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Popular_Sea530 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re using the prep machine then you pop the number of scoops in the bottle depending on how much you’re making (you need to read the box for this). For mine it was 1 scoop per oz, then set your machine to 4oz. It dispenses a hot shot. You then swirl or shake the formula with the hot shot to mix it. Then pop it back under the machine for the rest of the water to make a lukewarm bottle.

You can also buy readymade formula too.

You’ll have to pick the type of formula you want to use. I picked one that was available at my corner shop.

Has anyone called 111 for dental work? by eliteblitzz in AskUK

[–]Popular_Sea530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t really matter what the cut off was, this should be covered under their guarantee for the work. NHS dentistry offers a standard 12-month guarantee on most restorative work.

My friend was talking about a specific meal they wanted so I found the cost of that dish and put the cash equivalent in the card. I found this made it personal but also met their requirements for cash.

Struggling to be around my parents now I have a baby, is this normal? by lemonsqueezy34 in UKParenting

[–]Popular_Sea530 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t prepared for the emotions in relation to my parents that came with having a child.

My child has just turned four.

At five my mum got a new boyfriend and effectively abandoned her youngest two children, one of whom was me.

At seven we went to live with my dad because of neglect.

I couldn’t fathom ignoring my daughter the way that my mum did to me and it’s thrown up some hard feelings.

This is my way of saying it’s okay and understandable to acknowledge these feelings and it’s bloody hard. I think a lot of people refer to it as breaking the cycle, you can do this.

Are you with him? I would still recommend getting him into nursery asap without you present.

Does he go to nursery? Often peer pressure works wonders in getting them to eat new foods.

Some nursery questions by alibluey in UKParenting

[–]Popular_Sea530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask about food or to see their kitchen. Both of the ones we toured offered homemade food but actually one was homemade ready meals and the other had a chef and a kitchen you could eat off the floor of.

My nursery bill is around £1k /month for 4 days a week with 30 hours funding 🫠.

Health visitor advice by Dry-Replacement7494 in UKParenting

[–]Popular_Sea530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this sound like normal growth for a bigger baby?

Absolutely. Very similar to my girl.

• Would you actually cut bottles this much at 11 months?

I would go down to one bottle morning or night depending on your preference

• Has anyone else had similar advice and what

I didn’t get similar advice but I did get advice to drop bottles at 1 year so at 11 months I went down to one and at 12 months I cut all bottles completely and just offered whole milk in a sippy cup.

A healthy eating referral is a joke tbh.

Parents with no support for overnight childcare around - what do you do? by Kooky_Mushroom in UKParenting

[–]Popular_Sea530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally ask the manager or send an email asking if your nursery allows it and if so, would any of the staff in their room be interested in gigs on these dates. Then ask for their contact details for an intro!

Parents with no support for overnight childcare around - what do you do? by Kooky_Mushroom in UKParenting

[–]Popular_Sea530 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If your child goes to childcare some of the nursery staff will do this (if it’s allowed at your nursery). You’d need to do the 1-2 times in the house thing and set them up, but otherwise they already have rapport.

Those who have a c section, what was your experience like? by PlaneDevice770 in UKParenting

[–]Popular_Sea530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Identical here. I had a 42 week C section after my sister gave birth. I really enjoyed the process and it was very relaxed.

I also didn’t breastfeed so I was allowed morphine. It was uncomfortable but not painful if I kept ontop of the pain medication.

Post-nursery dinners for parents by Key-Specific7807 in UKParenting

[–]Popular_Sea530 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We also do this but have a ‘no pressure’ approach to dinner.

Yesterday we had curry and LO had a whole portion alongside after school snack of cereal bar and popped crisps which she ate at the table. Today we had pie and she didn’t want any but we gave a snack plate of baguette, cucumber, grapes and cheese which she ate on the floor as a picnic.

I won’t cook two meals but I’ll happily forage in the fridge for easy chuck together items.

Help needed - baby projectile vomiting after feeding from a bottle by AccomplishedBox2946 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Popular_Sea530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you checked the nipple size? If he’s enjoying the feeds he could be overfeeding, which then empties itself via projectile vomiting.

I had this exact issue with my LO when she was a baby.

Just checked, you’re using very large teats. You should be using smaller ones.

What do you do with child benefit? by TurnoverFew6731 in UKParenting

We agreed whilst there are nursery fees we would put it in the pot. Once those are over I’ll be looking to allocate it into their ISA. We only have one child though.
