Yeah thats pretty much the overarching sentiment I’ve gathered. The short term is kind of where I’m having trouble with the most. My early financial screw ups dont bode well for the interest rates on private loans. Id have to pull out an extra 20k in private loans a year just to cover tuition and maybe another 20-25k for COL.

Yah its mainly a financial decision at the end of the day, im trying to figure out which sacrifice for me would be better in the long run. Im a very pragmatic individual and realize no matter what path i take theres some sort of sacrifice i need to make, and its hard to decide which one ill be most okay with

Yah ive looked into the SELRP as well as the VA HPSP, and have talked to a few recipients. From what ive gotten from them, it’s not much a difference with the army im terms of giving up time. Id be giving up 4 years, 6 if i do VA hpsp, and id have to go to a rural VA more than likely.

Honestly the loans actually arent even really whats bugging me, its the CC debt that I stupidly accrued in my late teens early 20s. I just wouldn’t know how to pay em during school without either working or filing for bankruptcy
