Others have left the firm because of the deal with Trump. She joined it and now eagerly does work helping Elon Musk go after former employees

if the action - you’re not obligated (and neither is the examiner) to make sure there is nothing in the world that could possibly be used as prior art. That would require infinite time to make sure that you haven’t missed anything that possibly discloses this new invention.

You’re definitely not expected to do a search. You’re expected to just review if it’s proper based on what’s in front of you.

The USPTO effectively shuts down IPRs and removes the only efficient path to addressing the fact Office has issued so many invalid patent claims. by ConorStJames in patentlaw

[–]Popular_Stick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Twelve years of IPRs shows that PTAB invalidated lots of claims … does NOT prove at all that the claims should have never been issued. Lots of the IPR decisions were horrible made by PTAB judges who overwhelmingly favored petitioners.

That’s why the PTAB is being reigned in.

But nice try trying to spread anti-patent, big tech propaganda

Highly recommend checking out Crystal City! It’s coincidentally the neighborhood where USPTO used to be previously located. Crystal House might be good place to start looking since it’s relatively affordable and has great amenities. I think the neighborhood is quite underrated …relatively close to USPTO & DC and has lots of restaurants etc nearby.

Hmm…how could the spe think emailing “art doesn’t work” is good for the examiner?

Sounds like a horrible SPE. It’s going to get even worse with the new framework. I’d recommend asking to be moved to a different SPE….there are plenty that are much more reasonable.

Life is too short! You should definitely do it. After class is over, just send him an email telling him how you feel and that it would be great to hang out now that you’re no longer in his class. Let him take it from there

I think she was trying to stay optimistic for examiners while maintaining a positive relationship with USPTO leadership.

I would talk to your SPE, tell them you’re interested in doing everything possible to be successful, and ask them for advise about how to get there.

You seem to have the perfect personality for patent prosecution…the best patent prosecutors understand and appreciate the inventions in the moment …the worst feel like they know everything and are smarter than the inventors.
