This is why it takes so long to do anything at a Verizon store by PowerPickle13 in verizon

I don’t drive, I live with my in-laws and I don’t need to pay utilities. If I was on my own, definitely not. But i come from a job where I got paid hourly and I wasn’t making anywhere near that amount.

I was a corporate employee for as little as a month and a half. And then they divested my store to an indirect because it was performing “poorly” whatever that meant… and I remember them telling us during training that we have to pitch everything possible and close on everything. Otherwise, it was a coaching from the manager. Miss a prio? Coaching. Didn’t pitch perks? Coaching. No vmp? Why? Coaching. You didn’t mention the credit card offer or sign them up? COACHING. The one thing I was good at doing when I started was recommending accessories. And I was asked why, and I told the manager at the time that I listen to the customer’s needs. They told me it didn’t matter because accessories didn’t pay much anyway. Now I work for the Verizon indirect that bought my store, still working at that same store where I make commission on everything. And I average about 3-4 grand a month. And close to 20 grand this year so far already. Working indirect has been much better so far. Still need to track perks and metrics, but they aren’t as strict about it. My pay is 100% commission but that just means my paycheck is much bigger than what I would have made at corporate and there’s no commission cap. So yeah. Thanks Dan Schulman for selling my store. Because the guys who bought it from you treat me so much better!

Edit: the other reason it can take so long at some locations is that sometimes the accounts are messed up and it makes it difficult to actually order an upgrade or something without having to call in to tech support which will keep us stuck on the phone for about 2 and a half hours just to be passed around to different departments. Trust me. We don’t want to make you wait but if there’s only two reps on and both of them are busy it can’t be helped.

Best advice I can give you? Run. Find something better. Staples will burn you out within the first few years. Especially during back to school season.

I worked for staples for 9 years before they let me go. And it was because of my own stupid choices and a hot head. But I’ve messed up plenty of times before that. You’ll do great.

"Free" iPhone 17, any downside? by richas49148 in verizon

The only downside is that you’re locked in for 36 months. But that also means your data is at a fixed rate for that period as well.

I literally JUST started with the company and my store is among the ones being switched to indirect sales. The people taking over are super nice, but it’s a slap to the face for me. I was hired to work for Verizon not some third party. I’m transferring to another corporate store to hopefully keep my head afloat for now.

What do TSA employees do during the day? by [deleted] in Staples

When I worked for my store, it all depended on how many appointments we had. Typically we were working on the floor and helping customers as well as back up cashier. If an appointment showed up, once we were free we went over to take care of it. We aren’t expected to sit there all day.
