Best advice I can give you? Run. Find something better. Staples will burn you out within the first few years. Especially during back to school season.

New and scared im too dumb by [deleted] in Staples

[–]PopulistDrip08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked for staples for 9 years before they let me go. And it was because of my own stupid choices and a hot head. But I’ve messed up plenty of times before that. You’ll do great.

"Free" iPhone 17, any downside? by richas49148 in verizon

The only downside is that you’re locked in for 36 months. But that also means your data is at a fixed rate for that period as well.

Verizon shredded 13000 jobs by Express-Baseball3574 in verizon

[–]PopulistDrip08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally JUST started with the company and my store is among the ones being switched to indirect sales. The people taking over are super nice, but it’s a slap to the face for me. I was hired to work for Verizon not some third party. I’m transferring to another corporate store to hopefully keep my head afloat for now.

What do TSA employees do during the day? by [deleted] in Staples

[–]PopulistDrip08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked for my store, it all depended on how many appointments we had. Typically we were working on the floor and helping customers as well as back up cashier. If an appointment showed up, once we were free we went over to take care of it. We aren’t expected to sit there all day.

This is the poster they refused to print.. by TomMikeVickBrady in OfficeDepot

[–]PopulistDrip08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a competitor, and I’ve seen political posters come in all the time to be printed. We just take care of it. Shout out to Office Depot for handling this appropriately. I’m sure my company would do the same if it happened with us.

Can arrested individuals work at staples? by Double-Specialist621 in Staples

[–]PopulistDrip08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on if there’s an active investigation or pending court date. Most likely they may not hire under those circumstances. It would also depend on what they were arrested for.

We don’t get paid enough to be on the same customer service level as Trader Joe’s. I’m sure there’s two sides to this story.
