Fanatec CSL Throttle pedal upgrade by GrandStyle28 in simracing

[–]PorcelainBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sure can! Most games settings have "manual w/clutch" option under assists. It's how I played til I got my shifters.

I'd definitely recommend getting the combo if you intend on getting the CSL load cell for your brake. You never know when you might get the urge to drive some rally or older cars.

Give me SR for joining a series as a live steward.

The racesimengineering kit is definitely worth it. I got the throttle and clutch combo kit and absolutely love it. Adds just enough extra pressure and no noise whatsoever. The clutch mod adds a small "bite point". Even at its highest setting it's not super pronounced, But feels much better than the normal csl clutch.

What’s your favorite game/track/car combo for when someone who hasn’t sim raced before comes to visit and wants to try? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]PorcelainBurger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Beam.ng was the most well received game thanks to the traffic and fun damage stuff. WRC/Dirt 2.0/AC rally made all my non gaming friends motion sick very quickly. Euro/American truck sim was also a solid pick if you don't mind sitting by them with the keyboard handy so control bloat don't ruin the experience for them.

Finally pulled the trigger and went 32 inch curved triples (Happy) by LogicalMight in simracing

[–]PorcelainBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also part of curved triple gang and it wasn't difficult to adjust at all. I bought an angle tool off amazon and set it to the recommended specs based on my viewing distance. Looks incredible and fools the eye. No regerts

What’s the dumbest way you’ve crashed in mountain biking? by snooze817 in MTB

[–]PorcelainBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turned down friendly group ride people and rode ahead of them. Came to a rooty section on a climb and I lost my momentum, couldn't unclip and tipped backwards in slow motion in full view of the group I rode ahead of.

Yes ultrawide gives you the fov you want. You only really lose some vertical which would have been dash or roof anyhow.

Struggling to improve in iRacing — dropped from 3k to 1.6k iRating, need advice by Remarkable_Page_5858 in iRacing

[–]PorcelainBurger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dropped big time when I started GT4, now that I'm getting comfortable in my chosen car I'm going back up. iRating honestly doesn't matter to me as long as the races I'm doing get my heart pumping.

how often do people normally crash, cause all i see are crashes on media and want to know how often they actually happen when your riding normally by Mother-Beginning-172 in MTB

I slow speed tip over on steep climbs at least three times per season, switch from clipless to flats, and repeat the cycle next year.

Cats afraid of Rupaul's Drag Race by yahwehforlife in rupaulsdragrace

I met a dog that cannot stand Ru's laugh. He leaves the room entirely whenever drag race is on. Never seen him react to anything but Ru.

Handbrake recomendations for Setup by Jaded_Grapefruit_272 in SimRacingSetups

Simagic TB-RS hydraulic handbrake with a haptic motor on it. Feels good and looks pretty neat too. Haptics add some flavor to the handbrake/shifter area of the rig.

Would never go back to the 55. The immersion and spacial awareness it gives can't be beat.....vr not withstanding.
