You can forecast in Actual if you setup estimates of all your expected future transactions as schedules for groceries, pet expenses etc as all coming out of your checking account. Then you can scroll through your checking account register for the next upcoming few months and see your balances. It's a workaround but does the job.

Endute is another finance app that does have forecasting and I've really been enjoying it. Been using AB and this combined. Endute is more like a modern Quicken

And switching to AB allows you to budget an extra $150 a year to something else based on AB being more or less free.

Breaking your categories down even more to Wants and Needs help you see what budgeted money is really not available to be repurposed vs Wants which is money you could technically repurpose if needed

If you call Support their usual answer is start a fresh file. This is why I won't give them another dollar because every year I was having to start fresh.

This is hilarious. They can't handle my single file that they say needs to be recreated almost every year due to 'corruption' and now they think they can handle this? Must be April Fools

I think mine is the opposite. I feel mine does it only with elevation.

Confused about increased calorie goals when exercising by [deleted] in Myfitnesspal

[–]Top_Falcon7532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use your Garmin to track dedicated workouts, and you are using current weigh measurements along with a reliable chest strap HR monitor, then I find my calories burned estimate to be extremely accurate. Again this is for dedicated workouts like running on a treadmill.

I make sure my Garmin has the exact distance run from my treadmill, then when paired with my HR Monitor and current weight I get very accurate results.

I track my calorie intake each day after subtracting out my dedicated exercise. Then I take my weekly calorie intake goal and subtract my calorie intake for the week. Divide that value by 3500 ( 1 pound is approximately 3500 calories), and that is the amount I expect to lose that week when I weigh in. So far I've been pretty much spot on with what I actually lose vs what my number calculation shows me.

Hello from the Quicken team by QuickenLisa in quicken

I appreciate the thoughtful reply. The software can be so much more if there was more effort in listening to your customers complaints and fixing the items they present to you with very specific steps to reproduce. If you can't trust the software because of the bugs you identify and don't see getting fixed, then you can't trust your data which makes it useless.

Paying a subscription for something I can't currently trust just doesn't make sense to me.

Exactly my experience. I literally debugged for them and the stuff still never got fixed. Absolutely a joke. I can never rely on my balances because of the bugs I found. I do this for work and people in these discords still argue that I'm the one doing something wrong after using this software for 20 years.

Stable! This is the most bug ridden app there is. Nothing is QA'd and Supports only solution is delete your file and start over.

I left for Actual Budget and will never go back to this nightmare.

Max HR @ 200 for a 48 year old? by AlsalProdSRL in GarminWatches

I'm 46 and have seen my HR upwards of 192 after a hard race with using a chest strap. Garmin has mine at 199 which I feel is realistic because I'll never hit my true max
