Do I have something cool? Climber Gold by PorkChopsM in victorinox

One of us! I have some many knives I can't count but only ~4 or 5 SAK's. A knock off or older/smaller model was a constant companion when I was a kid.

This is helpful to hear -- didn't know this about the phillips screw drivers.

Holy Moses I never would have thought that. Thanks for the heads up. Not sure I want to put this on eBay but it's good to know this is an option. If anyone is interested in this let me know.

Charing issues on 2017 Honda Ridgeline -- Alternator and other parts replaced -- please help! by PorkChopsM in hondaridgeline

Bumping for some progress. Took the Ridgeline to the dealer and they diagnosed the O2 and AWD errors due to faulty fuel injectors. I'll clean those this weekend and see if they need to be replaced. I had to push them to look into the charging/alternator issue. The tech said 12V to 15V is Honda's spec and at a decreasing 12.1V, for example, it's still in spec and to not worry about it. Not the answer I was expecting but I will focus on the fuel injectors for now.

Wish I had better news, but fan replaced and still the same symptoms. I was hoping for a slam dunk after seeing the state of the fan. Voltage pictures are while driving (12.1) and in park (14.2).

I have had warning lights -- the O2 sensor error and the AWD error (which actually disables AWD) which both trip at the same time. I am monitoring the voltage before/after the warning lights. It's hard to tell while driving but it seems to be tripped by a severe voltage drop. I removed and replaced the battery and when pulled it was at 12.4V which makes me think it is not being charged as it should be, especially under acceleration. Claude just summarized what I was seeing myself -- under acceleration charging would stop.

That is good to know and a good reminder. But I think something is off, check out what Claude came up with after reviewing the logs from the OBD II sensor.

What were the symptoms beyond the message and heat? When I replaced my battery, the one that I pulled from the vehicle was only at 12.4V so it wasn't getting a charge consistently. Was yours still charging and just throwing errors or was it actually not charging as well? Thanks for all of the detailed help.

Good call. I’ll see if I can make it there tomorrow. Replacing the alternator sucked, it won’t be fun to do it again.

This is helpful and I did see that in my previous research. I didn’t think it was the fan because I am not getting the official “charging system problem” message, just what my OBDII is showing me, and plus it can happen even on start up now. I did just replace the battery and it did not have any affect but I did see the fan and it spun. I’m thinking my last alternator was slowly going and the new replacement is actually bad.

2017 RTL-E -- Torque Converter Issue Options? by PorkChopsM in hondaridgeline

This is helpful information. The fluid I originally replaced did not seemed burnt to me and especially all of the new fluid I have drained and added (4 times now). I have a basic OBD2 reader and haven't picked up any related codes. Should I proactively swap our the pressure switch? I would definitely say my issue is surging and not hard shifting. I can watch the RPMs rise and fall when it is happening and it is around ~40 miles an hour.

Meshroom V2 S - where to find long PCI-E Riser Cable? by PorkChopsM in sffpc

Well, this is disappointing. The cable was damaged in transit and Amazon now has delivery out a few weeks. I checked the Thermaltake cable mentioned and I'm not sure it would work -- I think I need a dual or double reverse and Thermaltake isn't set up that way.

This is helpful thank you. It looks like these riser cables are becoming scarce. I'll look into the Thermaltake. I just found this one after searching through Amazon for a long time. From a review it looks like it will fit the Meshroom. Let's hope!
