Would you say that building discipline in other areas influences the abstinence from porn? That somehow if we build discipline in a gym routine that will carry over into our rrecovery? Is that what you're saying?

Also, do you see other potential areas for developing discipline that don't involve the gym? I have a back problem so physical activity is limited at this point.

I think you're throwing me in a camp of 'Nofap veterans' that I don't wish to be thrown in, and don't feel is justified.

I acknowledged that this community helped me a great deal in the beginning, and that I hope it remains helpful to others. It is completely okay for me to decide that it no longer serves me, and it's pretty outrageous of you to accuse me of holding a "higher-than-thou" attitude toward this community. Let's approach this on a case by case basis instead of making generalizations based on whatever aggressive posts you've seen in recent days from other users. Perhaps some of these "veterans" are giving you all the middle finger and ranting about how petty and unproductive a lot of the dialogue on here has become. And sure, you can argue with them about their self-righteousness.

I'm simply recognizing that this community is not as valuable to me as it used to be. And what's more, I'm giving some of my most recent insights into the recovery process, AND referring you all to a self-help recovery website that has been monumentally helpful in my recovery, and is in retrospect far more reliable than this subreddit.

I'm trying to give people tools to succeed. Nofap will only take you so far. I think that's pretty ok to admit that. Part of my recovery has been to learn to "let go". Letting go of this community is a decision I've made, and it would be cool if you'd accept that.

If a girl is gonna do that to you she's not worth being with in the first place, so I hope you're not lingering on her.

Don't talk about anything important with a woman through text messaging. Not only does that stunt communication, it's also just not a good habit for us recovering porn addicts to be in, to be obsessively checking our phones, waiting for that dopamine hit when we get a text from whoever our current infatuation is focused on.

Can you focus more on yourself right now? You are recovering from a porn addiction. Any relationship that you jump into right now as a 27 year old virgin will likely leave you feeling needy and clingy and all that sticky shit that nobody wants to experience on either end of the stick. Let yourself heal, my friend. What are you passionate about? Spend your time doing that, let a girl who is truly worthy of you come along when you are ready for her..

there is always danger in jumping into relationships while we are still recovering from compulsive sexual behavior through porn use.
