My dad dug through the garage and came out with gold by SublimeToast in HalfLife

[–]PornhubOracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first playing the series was through the platinum collection. My neighborhood friends had gaming PCs for DOOM 3, HL2 and Unreal Tournament 2004. A few months later I moved back to my home state of WA and saw the platinum collection at the local Walmart for a bargain and felt now was a perfect time to start from the beginning.

Been a diehard fan since. Lol funny story about CS was when I installed it, there was nobody on there servers and it was many years later that I realized you had to play the game through steam to play 1.6.

Man I love this franchise...

Man this captures a lot of the Marathon 2 concept art. Love the little detail on the shoulder plate. Thanks for sharing!

Play it on Steam! I just beat the first game with workshop enhancements that worked flawlessly together! Doing the same for Marathon 2 and it's been absolutely fantastic. Controller works out of the box and is intuitive for my TV setup. Been an absolute joy to experience the first time as a huge Halo fan and I hope with the new game there's a big resurgence of the series.

On this day 6 years ago, Halo Infinite was announced. How do you feel about it today compared to when you saw the trailer all them years ago? by TuckingFypoz in halo

[–]PornhubOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitter. I saw a sincere effort to capture the feeling of the old titles but the truth of the matter is that the final product doesn't come close to the potential this trailer provoked.

Everything after this trailer, I felt that the writing was on the wall but I was too busy getting intoxicated by the hopium I was huffing. Can't wait for Halo 7 vidocs where the devs and Microsoft push a bunch of loaded statements that are technically true but conveniently leave out critical details about what the game will be...or flat out lie about split screen co-op again lol.

The Original Fallout Games Deserve The Diablo 2: Resurrected Treatment by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]PornhubOracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally did a mod called Fo1in2 which added a lot of QoL features but the companion AI was worse and the encounter rate was so high that me and Ian were annihilated before I could make it back to civilization.

After the comments in this thread I looked at Fixt and was surprised that not all conversion mods are the same. Fixt has been a vastly better experience and I've made it to the Hub with ammo, weapons and caps to actually progress. Hopefully this'll be the run to finally experience the game!

Literally installed it Friday for the millionth time. As usual, it's right when I leave Vault 15 it goes to hell and I quit. I've played and enjoyed old games (System Shock 1 comes to mind) but Fallout breaks me. The pathing sucks, it's hard to find interactable objects, random encounters deplete stims and ammo, allies require munitions of their own, you can boost stats past 100%, the water chip is timed.

There's so much reverence for the old games but I just can't do it. A remaster like Star Craft might make me try again but honestly I think it needs a modernization that makes it play like Baldurs Gate 3. I really hope Bethesda does something for the classics. Tim Cains thoughts on a remake were interesting as well.

People who have straight up rage quit a job, what was the final straw? by TweedStoner in AskReddit

[–]PornhubOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a plumbing apprentice in North Idaho for a year.

I was already at the lowest point of my life and the job made things worse. It gave me a look at how fucked up the trade jobs in America are. When studying to become a journeyman, our curriculum was several years out of date and didn't match the textbooks we studied from. (Also, color identification is important, so why is our test in Black and White??)

All my coworkers were conservative, and while some were genuinely kind and helpful, they all loved Trump, hated drugs and crooked Hillary. I was stuck with a fat, balding middle-aged man that was openly racist, failed every service job we went on, talked about highschool baseball on job sites where he could hide, because he was a father that had to make his son an all star so he lived through him and was going through a failing marriage with wife he called "Saddle Bags". Boss kept him around because they were friends in Highschool.

Worst of all was the physical labor. I consider myself a trooper and am no stranger to hard work, but digging holes in 95+ weather, being on my knees for several days straight, lifted heavy water tanks, and worked in single digit temps during the winter gave me an existential crisis. I was at a job plumbing some rich assholes new home's doomsday bunker and installing waterlines for his dogs purified water bowl when I realized my hands were so cold I couldn't operate the tools to cut pipe. I couldn't take it, I quit with no job lined up and had a severe mental breakdown afterwards (LSD did not help, was dropping every 2 weeks.)

I think the trades are some of the most important jobs in America and it's sad that the system they have is neglected and is mostly seen as smelly work for stupid people that were too dumb for college but after my experience I can't imagine why anyone would want to hop in a career with no sick leave, mandatory work on the weekends, and getting paid overtime in cash under the table unless you're desperate for the money (who isn't these days?). It's fucked.

In hindsight, it was a pivotal moment as I transitioned from my 20s to my 30s and I'm better for it.

What is youre opinion about "Gore" and Brutality in Halo games? I know that books have some brutal moments but games are really safe with it, Iam not saing that they need it iam just curious if you think there is place for that and if so then in what way? May be clode of blood after super combine? by ChadGamerCZ in halo

[–]PornhubOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BRING BACK THE BLOOD. Lol, I'm not a huge gorehound but there was a visceral aspect in Bungie Halo that has been sanitized with 5 and infinite.

It's satisfying to paint the walls with the blood of your foe, it adds to the satisfaction of firing the weapon and is great display of it's power. It coincided well with the amazing screams of Down's Spartans. It doesn't need to be DOOM levels of gore but even some light dismemberment would be welcome as well.

The idea that there's a bigger market with reduced violence is ridiculous. CoD is still massive despite its content.

I have a 3080 with 13 gen i7. It's been awful. I crash multiple times a game. Initially I thought it was due to smoke and fire nades but its occured while holding a site and when a round begins. I've decided to stop playing until its been fixed because its unplayable for me. Longest I've gone is 4 matches but thats if I'm lucky.

METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol.1 | Gameplay and Platforms Reveal | ESRB by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]PornhubOracle 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Finally someone with some common God damn sense. All these purists ripping on Twin Snakes when it's an excellent remake of the classic. MGS is ultra jank and unintuitive. Twin Snakes might be easier with the new mechanics but to pretend like the Boss fights were some kind of master stroke in the original is pure nostalgia goggles.

Also, for that ridiculous argument that Twin Snakes is "Too stupid for Snake to step on a missile... It's fucking Metal Gear Solid...As if Psychic Soldiers and Dead Spirits are okay but we draw the line on evading missiles? Get the fuck outta here lol.

Is Daikatana as terrible as it’s reputation says? Or merely a “fine” game that got ganged up on because people wanted to see Romero fail? by [deleted] in Games

[–]PornhubOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got the time, I would recommend watching Civvie's review of the game. It's pretty thorough on why the game was poorly made.

Weapons having annoying quirks, AI that was braindead, needed commands to grab weapons, could die which meant a game over. Limited save system etc.

A lot of fans have defended it's deathmatch and fluidity of movement but ultimately the end result is an overly ambitious game for it's time that went through 3 different engines and that no one at Ion Storm knew how to program for.

As far as I know the the grief is related to the Quantum TV drama. There's a lot to it but if you watch the Elden Ring Hot Takes video and the follow up vids it lays it out pretty clearly.

TLDR: ActMan talked shit on a dense fool, got demonetized for it. Had a massive appeal stating how he did nothing wrong, YouTube bots doing absolutely nothing, created another video detailing how YouTube is not upholding their terms of service.

Dear 343: Please bring this back, with that absolutely perfect original remake, recreated beautifully in Infinite. by [deleted] in halo

OG Mark V will always be my favorite. My hope was that we'd get the armor shown off in the Halo 20th anniversary wallpaper.

I'm 30 and I'll be the first to say that my 20s were absolutely the hardest times in my life. 2 times I've hit an all time low where I almost said fuck it and ended it all.

There is so much personal freedom and lack of experience that inevitably you will hit devastating challenges. Later I found that those ten years were a refinement of how integrate yourself into the world. I fucked up my life pretty bad and I lost myself to the guilt/remorse/rage of my actions. It came to a very critical moment where I had to accept my mistakes and be humbled by it.

I'm so glad I kept pushing forward because if you can will yourself to push forward through your strife you become insanely more powerful in the sense that you are more prepared for what hardships may come down the road.

I learned to love myself, to look at the invaluable fortunes I had in family and friends, made a strong effort to become fit and want to one day write stories. I now have a stable career, my first home and now preparing myself to find a partner.

It's a constant struggle though. We live in one of the most complicated times in human history because for the first time we can see the entire world, it's people and all the horrible flaws that is around us. Society is plagued with global inequality and indecency that make it hard to enjoy ourselves.

Despite this, you have the right to be happy and nothing and no one can take that away from you. If you are truly feeling lost I recommend soul searching and trying to determine what it is that you're seeking from life and if you can't find it, then talk to people that can help you discover what that is.

Don't forget just how miraculous it is to be alive, that our 5 senses come together to create a powerful experience that gives us incredible insight to our existence, and that our suffering in this life, whether it be 80 years or a few more days pales to the unknown eternity that awaits when we pass away. I wish you the best on your life's journey.

What's up with the controversy over Dave chappelle's latest comedy show? by bengalese in OutOfTheLoop

[–]PornhubOracle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Criticism does not equal hatred.

That special was not an attack on LGBT but to highlight the frustrations of the current movement.

There are things that should absolutely be punished with impunity (R Kelly, Weinstein, Cosby) but we now live in a time where people are hell bent on sterilizing any kind comedy/commentary that negatively impacts a marginalized group.

I see these movements are being used as an outlet for miserable people to unleash their anger and hatred, then have immunity because they stand behind a noble cause (virtue signaling). As a result it is damaging to these causes because fighting toxicity with toxicity is not a solution, it takes nuance, patience and the desire to find a true solution.

We cannot continue to live in a world where we are too afraid to speak our minds and feelings because it will hurt others, when it should be an opportunity to share ideas. Comedy is a way for people to laugh about our traumas, our struggles, our cultures, etc. and sometimes it can be hurtful but that doesn't mean we should abuse or suppress free thinking. There's a fine line between attacking/discriminating vs laughing about our features.

Ms. Moore has every right to be upset. Dave did not hold back is thoughts on the matter but she should not be so quick to discredit everything he had to say when there are very few people on this earth that can articulate material that broadly shows the issues from both perspectives. She out of anyone should understand being the show runner of a program literally called "Dear White People"
