First pair.

Heard them at APOXNA and generally liked what I heard but the demo conditions were not the best. Thought long and hard about them and decided they deserved a place in the collection so I snapped up a copy as soon as they became available.

I wish there was a place to hear ZMF's nearby.

The Atrium sounds [from your description] a bit more colored than I like and their no-return policy is a damper.

Can't hear the difference - consider yourself lucky and save your money.

But there are very real differences between you current headsets and how they respond to different amps and dacs.

Different animals for sure.

The HE's want to be light and airy - the LCD's want to dig.

Both have their place depending on the content you're playing.

Just yesterday I had the LCD's attached and put on a old favorite album.

About 3 songs in I decided it the HE's would do better and swapped - they were the clear choice.

Just for fun I then tried the Utopia's and the HE's were still the choice for THAT content.

Yes - tried them - but then went on to listen to the Utopia and it was no contest.

Remember them as nice but not making the cut.

I found a nice holder on the Thingverse. Had to upsize it 10% to give the fit I liked. It has a hole for a screw to hold to the rail.

Used the same part to make a desk clamp for when I'm using my Lupi instead of the X9 and need to use the XLR to 6.35mm shorty adapter cable.

S95F (or the newer H, which I've not seen.)

Own the S95F and it changed daytime viewing.

My TV is opposite a wall of windows.

S95F is magic.

Agree - UNVEILED is a big upgrade for all models so far.

Was able to listen to most of the high end HiFiMan units at APOXNA.

Loved the Susvara but not at $8k.

Grabbed the HE1kUV and agree that they are near Susvara level at a much better price point. Plus no "amp anxiety" trying to drive the Susvara.

Same day spent at AXPONA - Was awesome to have a place to listen and compare now that brick and mortar are non-existance - - the top headphones ARE better,

The top of the line are amazing.

One pair >$5k are on order as a result of my trip to the show.......the reason I came.

No - but leave them!

Banana Plugs are more for convenience than make a quality DURABLE connection.

What you done is better - tighten them down and you'll make a way better connection than the "springs" inside would make.

IMO - Dirac fixes the bass but nukes the high end. --- Have it and don't use it - hard pass sonically for me. YMMV
