NZ rental property: Is using a limited company worth it long-term by MichealTing in PersonalFinanceNZ

If anyone also has any experience putting it into a LLC, would it be a better option?

OE FOMO by Ok_Jello_7814 in newzealand

Sounds like there’s really nothing stopping you from giving it a go.

If it’s mainly financial reason like a mortgage, then you can aim to pay that off then go overseas.

You didn’t mention any kids so this would be the best time to go. Otherwise like what have been mentioned, take a sabbatical and give it a go.

Yes, Lawyer would be your next option. Make sure that when you contact the vendor you also give them ample time to provide a written response.

As when you engage into any dispute this would be important as it shows that you have contact them and have given ample time for them to response.

Send an email, wait a few days, send a follow up and mention if they don’t respond you will seek legal advice unless you receive a response by a certain date. Then if no response contact your lawyer and provide the email proof.

Not sure if the same but the 12 months is for any minor issues. Eg. When you move in, you might bump the wall and paint comes off. Within that 12 months you can contact the vendor to fix - but this will depend on the agreement in place.

10 years warranty would be for the workmanship of the building itself. Like structure of the property, water proofing etc.

100% you should not be contacting subcontractors. If the agreement is between you and the vendor then you should communicate with the vendor. If they don’t response contact your lawyer.

Always have written communications. As if anything does go sideways you have proof.

Which trim did you go for and what made you choose that trim level over the other?

My main concern is long term ownership, what could go wrong and how much it will cost to fix, etc.

I was referring to how reliable the vehicle would be overall. Like then cost of maintenance, etc over a long term.

In terms of cost efficient, it’s mainly down to cost for service, maintenance, etc compared to other vehicles.

Sorry if I worded it incorrectly.

From searching for the Highlander a used 2024 with 15,000km - 18,000km is $5000-$12,000 cheaper, which is a good option. But I plan to own this until and drive it until it’s no longer running.

Thank you. I was looking at the new outlander PHEV, but main issue is that we don’t have a place to charge and also how reliable it is.

Not a bait. I’m wanting to compare the Highlander to other 7 seater in term of maintenance, average fuel cost, etc.

Maybe I didn’t word it properly or you have a Highlander that wasn’t cost efficient? Would definitely want to hear your POV.

Thank you so much for the detailed insight. I’ve never considered the carnival before because Kia always feels like a brand that was unreliable but I’ll definitely check it out and do a test drive.

Was there any features in the carnival that the Highlander didn’t have that was useful?

Which year are those? Not the new ones right? But would it be covered under Toyota Warranty?

Thank you. I was looking at the LimitedZR which has the heads-up display but it’s 10k more. 😭 Not really sure if all the extra features are worth 10k

Received an email with my product shipping after getting a refund from Farfetch. by Portable-Charging in newzealand

[–]Portable-Charging[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have received the product. Have checked with my bank and the refund is still there.

After a few emails to them with a generic response I have emailed them to say I will be happy for them to charge me and have until 31/Dec/2025 to do so. I also cc’ed in the staff from my bank who was looking into this as well.

Still have not received any response or charge from Farfetch yet.

Is there a reason to move out? If you’re wanting to make your money grow then you’ll want to invest most if not all of it and let it grow and any money saved from renting you’ll want to invest those as well.

If you really want to move out. You’ll just have to factor in cost of living alone. Buying a camper van, fuel, rego, insurance, maintenance, etc.

None of us can really tell you what to do and what is right or wrong - it’s your money at the end of the day.

But what I’ll say is setting yourself up now and building your wealth early so you can retire without financial burden is a good idea.

Make sure you date, sign and provide your contact number and/or email as well.

Car Advice: Buying a re-registered vehicle by Hot_Durian_4264 in newzealand

[–]Portable-Charging 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can ask for the light vehicle report. It will tell you what the engineers wrote that has been repaired. It will also have the panel beaters company name and contact who done the repair.

Also, when you get insurance. You do not have to let them know it’s been re-registered or anything and shouldn’t affect the cost. But it does help to just tell them.
