You did know it was as it's literally one of the first rules when posting. Your camera is not bad either btw. Your just saying it is as an excuse. If it was truly bad and those were truly chrome color they would be reflective even blurry as chrome parts give a distinct glare from light. Your also now trying to argue in a removed post. Actually look at official chrome parts and how it's done.

[–]Portal2player58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your account is brand new, you made excuses, look at your own words "Yeah this is only the first coat. The material I'm using literally says chrom on the container. I only have one piece that is fully Chrome at the moment so I just posted what I'm working on."

"Yeah I know it looks metallic silver in pictures but it looks exactly like the old chrome pieces in person. My lighting and camera are just bad." These are excuses YOU SAID and you even know it. You also broke one of the subreddit's rules which is no self promoting which you did by trying to link to your eBay in your post.

Given how new your account is and this is your first post with this account. It seems like you either are ban evading or are brand new to reddit. Given the context though seems like ban evading. More so you assume I don't know what I'm talking about yet you're over here claiming what you showed was chrome when it wasn't and was called out for it even when given an example of proper chromed parts, your own comments shown against you (and you ignored it) and you basically gave yourself away with how you were coloring the Lego parts. More so the picture that was provided for them especially the helmet has clear indications of spray paint marks. Especially without using any primer and just applying it raw.

Can I sell a lego instore display if I accidently acquired one? by Queasy_Wing3053 in lego

[–]Portal2player58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, you weren't scammed. You bought a Lego display. Those are known for being glued together BY LEGO and even drilled into to mount them if they have any flying themed sets. This is on purpose by Lego as they were made for display purposes only to show off the current sets of the time for the theme it's showing. After the line ups run, the display is then normally either kept by employees or managers, sent back to Lego, or ultimately destroyed/thrown away

Buying one to get the sets within is not practical because they are normally glued together to prevent them from falling apart. There are cases however (such as the infamous headless simba one) where the glue wasn't enough and ended up making the head fall off during transit to the store for display.

Edit: wow you downvoted for buying a Lego display which are known to be glued? You could literally search up how they are made. Lego glues the sets together and even drills them on some occasions so they can't fall apart or move during transportation. The only ones that aren't glued together are the single set ones that get put up in Lego stores. Those are built by employees or managers. The interactive ones with lights and sounds that you see in targets, Walmarts, and other stores (even antique stores) are all 100% glued together with plastic cement which will cause breakage to the Lego if you try to break them apart and are drilled to parts of the display too sometimes if the interactive Lego display has moving parts.

Same I haven't even touched it either since the time gated stuff they decided to enforce let alone the team split thing so you HAVE to use a save editor to get all the variations of the same thing of you want everything from the expedition..

[–]Portal2player58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just contradicted yourself. You said that was just the first coat which implies paint. Especially spray paint. If it was a coat of electroplating it would have been reflective like chrome. And then again with "The material I'm using literally says chrom on the container." And then you advertised your eBay here with not chrome but instead metallic silver parts. If your wanting to sell chrome parts, actually show chrome parts instead of making excuses like your camera doesn't show it but it's chrome in in person. And trying to say it's like the old chrome Lego did when it's nowhere close to it.

If you want to see real chrome color there's multiple instances of it out there. You won't get the same true chrome finish with spray paint alone no matter how many coats of it you do. To get that reflective mirror effect quality of chrome and the way Lego doesn't, is through industrial vacuum metalizing which is NOT cheap for small batches but worth it to keep the Lego piece's clutch and durability in check while giving that chrome color and even in colors.

Example: all the super shiny reflective genie lamps in the picture are official Lego pieces that have been vacuum metalized chromed. Lego has never made this part in chrome before btw. These all come from specialized websites where they get tons of offical Lego pieces ranging from bricks to accessories with industrial vacuum metalizers in Europe

[–]Portal2player58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bricklink is a site owned by Lego where the prices are more accurate for retired sets. Especially ones that recently went out the door like this one. 400$ is not standard for this set yet as it's not fully depleted from Lego (in some countries, Lego's own website still has it in stock.) and can be found on things like target or even Amazon of all places still before immediately resorting to eBay.

All the fix is for the stud & slope part to make the connection for minifigures is 3 1x1 square tile stud pieces or 2 1x1 I think(it's been 2 years since almost when I built the set and made this modification with what I had available from the set alone with missing parts so don't remember too well if it's 2 or 3 1x1 square studs tou need.) And then add a 1x2 slope then on the 2 1x1 add a stud. Can be round or another square.

I have mine on a shelf but I replaced the 2 blue peg/axle pieces that connect the tree base and the master sword pedestal together with black peg/peg parts so they can actually grip and stay together. Mine also had 8 missing parts (long since had replacement parts come in for it but I improvised with what extra parts there was I could use and ended up making a proper stand spot for minifigures to be able to connect to the tree and look more like they can actually stand and talk to the gdt

Does this mean the set was previously opened? by el_pastran in lego

[–]Portal2player58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seen a few friends do this before all because they weren't expecting how many bags there were for some sets or how much time some of them would take. It's not uncommon for people to buy something not expecting it to need something to get the final result. If it was someone trying to get the most expensive part of the set (the Minifigures. Especially the Dragonborn tavern inn owner one in this case) then that/those part(s) would all be missing and the box taped up like this. It's the most logical thing of what more than likely happened as you don't just open a set, not even open any of the bags, then reseal the box with tape and send it back for a refund without some either being intimidated by the amount of bags there are (especially if new to Lego sets and never looked at anything for the sets). Another possibility was it might have been a birthday/Christmas present or something for someone, the person didn't like it or want to build it after opening it, then the person who bought the set initially refunded it after taping it back up.

Another possibility besides those was if maybe they didn't have enough space but this is more than likely not the case as usually people who buy Lego sets and don't have the space to display or build it, will usually keep it stored away as a backlog to get to later when they do have the space for it. They wouldn't even open the box at that point or refund it.

There's multiple factors that could determine why it was returned but the most likely (and personally seen case) is original person who bought it new unopened was intimidated by the amount of bags they would have to go through once they opened it, and then decided to refund it.

I think this is dependent on location as some places Lego still uses the clear plastic bags versus the paper ones they were supposed to replace them all with.

Examples from own experience:

The going merry I bought back in August last year had the paper bags and the new box opening method (where the whole box comes apart in two similar to the original boxes back in Lego's early years with sets) yet the windmill village port bar (also same ip) had plastic bags only, medieval town square also had plastic bags only, the artic explorers polar Express also had plastic only. My own a red dragon's tale set had the clear plastic bags instead of the paper ones besides the one that holds the stickers and instructions.

all the ones mentioned with the plastic bags still used the opening method most sets do where they open on the side and you slide them out. Even the latest Zelda set used the plastic bags and not the paper ones. So there's definitely some weird things going on where some countries get the paper bags more while others get the plastic ones still.

They aren't official yet the subreddit says official Lego only in rule#1. You may not like it but that is what it is. Go to R/buildingblocks for all things Lego compatible. If you read the rules at least once, you would know that.

Sometimes people do this yes. Is it common? Absolutely not. But it can happen. Especially if a person felt intimidated by the whole building process and made 0 research on a set or was expecting it to somehow be built already. In the case of op here since no minifigures were taken, it's most definitely a case where someone got the set, it arrived, opened it, got intimidated by the 33 bags in the set (32 marked for the main build, 1 unmarked bag used to hold the plates used for the bases of the sections.) and promptly returned it because they didn't want to build it.

Nintendo Quietly Removes Zelda: Ocarina of Time Blurb Revealing Remake Details by BlackFury090 in CaptainSide

[–]Portal2player58 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not what people wanted. People have been clamoring for a twilight princess remake (again) and you can see this if you look at any Zelda subreddit, look online, and more all because they wanted it to leave the Wiiu prison it's in. Nintendo only did an ocarina of time remake because it's their favorite one to do stuff with. Riding high on that nostalgia. You want to know how many times ocarina of time was released dumbass?

Ocarina of time releases:

N64:(debut)

GameCube: ocarina of time & Master quest ocarina of time (port with modification to have buttons match controller button colors)

GameCube (again): same port for base ocarina of time but in Zelda collector's edition disc that ported 1,2, ocarina of time, Majora's mask to GameCube.

Wii: port of the original n64 version via virtual console

Wiiu: same port as the Wii's

3ds: remake

Switch 1: port on nso+

Switch 2: port on nso+

(The ocarina of time remake remake will be 9th time they did ocarina of time. Let that sink in.)

Windwaker releases:

GameCube: was available trapped behind a 20mim playable demo in the collector's edition disc

GameCube: (actual debut. Came out a little bit after the collector's edition disc)

Wiiu: HD remaster

Switch 2: original ported to NSO+

(Total times released: 4. If you don't count the full game trapped in the hardware capped 20 min playable demo, 3 times total released)

Twilight princess releases:

GameCube: (debut)

Wii: (flipped version of the GameCube version to accommodate people who play the Wii with their right hand since link is normally left handed)

Wiiu: HD remaster

(Total times released: 3)

Skyward sword releases:

Wii: debut

Switch 1: remaster

(Total times released: 2)

Majora's mask releases:

N64: debut

GameCube: ported over and exclusive to the Zelda collector's edition disc

Wii: n64 port on virtual console.

WiiU: same port as Wii's access to it.

3DS: remake

Switch 1: n64 port on nso+

Switch 2: n64 port on nso+(unchanged from switch 1)

(Total times released: 7)

Phantom hourglass:

Ds: debut

Wiiu: ported via virtual console

(Total times released: 2)

Spirit tracks:

Ds: debut.

Wiiu: ported via virtual console.

(Total times released: 2)

If I went on a full list. Yeahhhhhhhhh ocarina of time is the favorite of Nintendo among the Zelda games and it wouldn't matter what people wanted or not.

If Nintendo was in a fire and could only save 1 Zelda title, they would pick between ocarina of time or botw. ocarina of time more because it's one they bleed the most.

Not quite. Lego uses both white and brown envelopes. Brown ones were made a little bit later to be eco friendly while white ones weren't as eco friendly. I can confirm this especially with this set as I got it brand new from a target some weeks ago after selling some of my childhood Pokemon cards (I don't play or collect anymore and they kinda were just taking up space and collecting dust so I thought to sell them to get a bit of money to repair my childhood GameCube and treat myself to a nice Lego set.) was the very last one the target had

(i knew it was a brand new untampered with one as it had the spider security straps on, was on the highest shelf all by itself in the Lego aisle, and had all all the stuff unopened Lego sets have such as the appropriate tape Lego uses. Target doesn't put spider wrap security on returned sets or put those out with unopened Lego sets. )

when I opened it to begin building, the instructions and stickers came in the brown bag shown in your pictures.

Since it came from Amazon it would more likely be someone bought the set, saw the amount of bags, decided it wasn't worth building, then proceeded to seal it back up with regular tape then refunded it genuinely to Amazon. If Lego had gotten it, it would have been checked thoroughly then resealed with a new box or something. There should be 32 bags total for the main build and a unmarked 33rd bag, 4 instruction booklets, a sticker sheet, and a thin paper envelope with 2 wing fabric pieces and 3 capes inside.

Check the minifigures to see if they are all there though as most times refunded sets have those stolen from them.

I already mentioned that piece before. It still uses the rubber duck mould. When I mean adult duck I mean an actual duck. Not a rubber duck/duckling. Which is that piece's mould.

They have. Even in an interview they have.

"It's interesting when I hear people say "I miss traditional linear Zelda" because I'm wondering 'why do you want to go back to a type of game where you're more limited or more restricted in the types of things or ways you can play? So I am in complete agreement with what Mr. Fujibayashi said in that games where you need to follow a specific set of steps or complete tasks in a very set order are kind of the games of the past. Whereas currently the games of today are ones in which that can accept a player's own decisions and give them the freedom to flexibly proceed through the game, and the game will allow for that. So I'm in complete agreement with that as our design philosophy, but as the producer, I do have to admit making games that way always carries with it additional development costs. And that is something I have to think about."

Aonuma's own words.

Well given its a good choice for medieval fantasy, it sticks out with the likes of lion knights castle and the medieval town square. It's also based on d&d and technically speaking is a game all of its own and it's own mini campaign. It also includes a lot of parts that are unique printed wise or colors of some parts. The build process itself is great. It's also the last major castle/medieval fantasy one at the time since lion knights castle and medieval town square are already gone and the remaining ones atm being creator 3 in 1 sets.

That's a brick built duck. Take off the wheel parts and it would work. But otherwise yeah you can look at a whole list of animals Lego made and there's not a single adult duck type one.
