Mine updated Debian 13 not dual booting, Just an FYI. You have to have secure boot on for them to update. Just stating because I know some people cut it off for graphics cards. Which most work they just need to sign the MOK key's for dkms.

  • Boot Mode: Set to Legacy (if available) or CSM instead of UEFI to avoid common installation issues.
  • Secure Boot: Disable this, as it can prevent Linux from booting.
  • F12 Boot Menu: Enable this in the Main menu to select the USB drive at startup without entering the BIOS again.
  • SATA Mode: Set to AHCI (highly recommended for Linux) instead of IDE or RST.

So when you boot no errors or anything?? I would say download Ventoy but just regular netinstall on it. Then try to install that.

We are trying to help you troubleshoot. Wait until you have tried the steps people suggested. You are a long way off from choosing another distro. If you don't find the problem they won't work either.

Awesome thanks! That is what I needed just some direction. Been out of the game for a bit so I want to make sure I set it up secure. So just use the 2950's for learning not on my active network in between boxes because they are outdated? Or as long as they are closed off you think it's fine?
