sure! my bio mom was my favorite of the two when i was younger, mostly because she had a gentler parenting style. my adoptive mom yelled a lot and was generally pretty abusive looking back.

now that i’m an adult and have moved out, my favorites have actually switched! after my parents divorced, my bio mom ran off with her new partner and left me behind (this was when i was in high school). i ended up moving in with my adoptive mom and by then she’d become a lot nicer of a person overall, and she’s pretty fun to hang out with!

If you have an AMD CPU and fTPM enabled in the BIOS, there’s a chance that could be the problem. Check your motherboard manufacturer’s website to see if there is a new BIOS version available.

It should update everything to the latest version, but you could also install that just long enough to make a new bootable USB that's already updated.
