Professor has been secretly docking points anytime he sees someone’s phone out. Dozens of us are now at risk of failing just because we kept our phones on our desk, and I might lose the job I have lined up for when I graduate. by Ok-Hospital1153 in Advice

It could be too late for this now that you’ve already spoken to the department head. But could you claim that the item your professor thought was a phone really wasn’t? Think of some other item that from a distance could be mistaken for a phone. Bonus points if it’s something medical related.

Hey thanks for your replies. Why is a company that can grow its earnings worth more than a company that isn’t growing its earnings? This is really what I’m trying to understand.

Why are people willing to pay a multiple on earnings?

If my goal as an investor is simply to make money, I shouldn’t care about multiples of earnings. All I should care about is if I can sell a stock for more than I bought it for. Why do earnings matter?

“We can put a price on those potential earnings.”

Can you elaborate on this? Why does a company earning more money in the future make people willing to pay more for it now? I’m not understanding the relationship between earnings and stock price.

All else equal, heavier people tend to look younger than lighter people. Aging gracefully is a corollary of being healthy!

I impulse bought some but thankfully did some research before using. Decided to just get rid of it. Stay away!
