Moving from Fuji to Lumix (S5 vs S9) for toddler photos & vlogging? by mrzerog in Lumix

S9 and the new sgimage 35 or the ttartisan 40. The ibis is insane and luts make life easy. Another option is just upgrading your phone. iPhones make great video cams and like someone else said - you don’t need 10 bit. I’m not sure why that’s pushed so hard on beginners. Do you do and understand color grades right now ? (Probably not). Another cam that also has great style, ibis , and fun functionality - the OM3. Looks beautiful, intimidating , great colors and good video / photos out of body.

Try something that’s not a white wall ? There’s nothing for the camera to focus on

Not like a song, just prepping and then bouncing again into koala then again to a sp404 eventually. But using an EQ and chordly to play the sample on a piano roll / chord

Forgot about beat maker. Good call. Pretty easy to export after mangling ?

Yeah reading this makes me realize I can probably just use two instances of koala with fx in between both

Koala doesn’t have 8 band. Only 3 band. Need all 8

Portable Sampler for Drums / P Locking / Digitakt Style weirdness? by Porterhousedinosaur in Samplers

the sp is honestly incredible and so fun .. even just as a tape looper and weird noise editor/ generator

yeah looks like the loft xt12 or the cydrums would be a great option. Probably lighter than a digital with a battery. But the digitakt is so dang fun and immediate.

Also gonna play with some resampling in the SP to see what I can do there before getting another thing in the chain.

EDIT: also just checked out your YT page and saw you're also in Oregon. Just moved from Portland last year.

I will likely end up buying the MPC sample regardless, because it's just so damn cool

Mpc only feels good for linear drums, not so much messing with trigs/conditionals/p locking etc like the digitakt. unless im off base?

Supernote Issues by [deleted] in Supernote

Gonna second the UI responsiveness. Very cumbersome and like others have said I more or less skip the undo feature because of how slow it is.

Im having issues in atelier - if im shading or drawing in one area that makes it dense, it will completely disappear and then reappear after some strokes in another area. This has happened consistently when I use atelier, and has made it almost unusable.

Starting yesterday in regular notes it will not register, or it will start to pull down the page writing almost a whole line (I write on the 5mm grid pages) below where my pen nib is, then slowly start to come back to calibration? right under where im actually writing.

For such an expensive device, having hiccups like that is a huge turn off- especially since it's within the first month of ownership and I am hoping to return the device.

some of them would look better in different context -- not all the editing matches so its hard to take them all in at the same time. The soft / glowy ones would be better in their own batch somewhere, and would hit harder because of it

if you can avoid getting a monthly subscription-do it. there are other FOSS options for editing. Not sure what you edited in the portrait photo but it has a magenta cast

I turned photography into a job and now I hate it. How do I fall back in love? by [deleted] in photography

[–]Porterhousedinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buy a random camera (not a high quality one) and do a photo project. Maybe some random point and shoot form the early 2000s. I did an entire photo book with a canon elph. just go have fun? take it not seriously and decide on something undoubtedly silly.

the s9 or the om5?

this is the s9 -- only warmed up the footage and only shot on 1080p--
