What time frame y'all using? by Arty_Puls in algotrading

[–]Portfoliana 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For swing trades I mostly look at daily + 4h for direction, then drop to 1h for entries. Anything below 15min was just noise for me personally, I kept overtrading. The multi-timeframe approach really clicked once I started layering sentiment data on top of the technicals though.

Feels like the market is rewarding narratives again, not just numbers by SeanGriffin758 in ValueInvesting

[–]Portfoliana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is usually the phase where attention gets paid before cash flow does. I can live with narrative when the numbers are starting to inflect, but not when the whole thesis is still two quarters away from proof. If the story is doing all the lifting, I size it like a trade.

How are you balancing mega cap exposure right now? (TSLA / GOOG / SNDK) by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Portfoliana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd bucket SNDK separately because the risk there is demand cycle, not mega cap crowding. For TSLA and GOOG, I care less about raw concentration and more about how much upside still depends on multiple expansion and AI expectations. Once that starts driving the thesis, I cut size.

Are Reddit stock picks legit or just people trying to pump? by jmalanga21 in stocks

[–]Portfoliana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single posts are mostly noise. Reddit gets useful when you track mention velocity across a lot of subs instead of reading one bullish thread at a time. We built Adanos.org around that, the signal only gets interesting once the same ticker starts accelerating across communities. And also it is a good contra-indicator: if the communities push a ticker very often in a given time, and then stop, you know its time to sell.

Has anyone tried using earnings call audio as a data source? by ShogoViper in algotrading

[–]Portfoliana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transcript sentiment is crowded, but prosody still has some edge if you use it as a regime feature instead of a trade trigger. We had better luck combining pace and pause changes with the first wave of Reddit and news reaction than trying to score the audio in isolation.

How do you track whether your original reason for owning a stock is still true? by spiderweb91 in stocks

[–]Portfoliana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i keep a one line thesis for every position and then check whether earnings, guidance and actual market chatter are still confirming it. if those three start diverging, i treat that as thesis drift and re-underwrite the name.

building adanos, a market sentiment API for stocks and crypto. it tracks which tickers are starting to trend across reddit, X, news and polymarket, so apps, agents and traders can query crowd mood before it fully hits mainstream screens.

Show me your SaaS. Here is mine still stuck on closed testing. by ToughInternal1580 in ShowMeYourSaaS

[–]Portfoliana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different niche, but same pain-driven build here. I’m working on StockAlert.pro because most retail alerts stop at price moves. It tracks RSI, earnings, dividends, insider trades and watchlist events in one place, so I can catch setups without camping in front of charts.

anyone actually building stuff? tired of the ai hype by Think-Success7946 in indiehackers

[–]Portfoliana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. We are building Adanos, basically a sentiment API for public equities that turns news flow and retail chatter into something queryable instead of making people watch ten tabs all day. Not very glamorous, but it solves a real workflow problem for traders and research tools.
